I want to acknowledge all the mamas, mamas-to-be, and mama-figures out there, today. I know that this day can be hard for those who don’t have a mama present, have trouble conceiving, or lost a child(ren), so my thoughts go out to you, as well. At any rate, you are all appreciated, loved, and thought of! ❤️ to my own mama and grandmother!

Today marks 3 full years in business. A Work of Heart Therapy has been one of my greatest blessings that began during such a dark and scary time (pandemic). I’d like to extend my gratitude to each client who has trusted me with their mental health needs and invested in my dreams. I’d also like to thank my family for their support on chasing my dreams! A Work of Heart Therapy would like to send out condolences to victims who succumbed to their injuries at yesterday’s violent event. I would like to speak on the issue of mental health, regarding people who consciously make a decision to do something so heinous. We recognize how society paints individuals with mental health diagnoses and difficulties, but each of us has choice in what we do. Blaming mental health for choices like this further stigmatizes individuals who seek assistance and A Work of Heart Therapy is not OK with this. Please, don’t allow occurrences like this to prevent you from seeking help, in fear of repercussions. Please don’t wait until it gets too bad. I’m only one individual, but I’m making it my duty to stop the stigma of seeking mental health being a bad choice.

A Work of Heart Therapy, PLLC would like to take some time out to commemorate the legacy and life of the late Martin Luther King Jr. It’s great souls like this that shape the foundation of our world and serve as inspiration to build strong, like-minded servants. Mr. King definitely made it possible for a woman of color like me, to have my private practice and serve those in need. While we still have a long way to go, I am so honored to be afforded the opportunity to work in the capacity of a social worker. I will ALWAYS choose love over hate and pray that each of my clients resonate with these sentiments that I hold dearly.

It's National Boss's Day, today! I am so extremely humbled to say that the boss I answer to is ME! A lot of blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice has gone into this role and I definitely don't take it for granted! Thank you to my family for the support on this day, as it means SO much to me!
