6 Things Successful People Do That Others Don’t

Do you embrace change, or fear failure? Set goals, or wing it?

Because I never trusted my talents, my looks or my luck,
and I had no connections, I studied what successful people
did and tried to mimic that.

Then I studied what unsuccessful people did and tried to
avoid that.

While there are many things that seem to differentiate those
who are successful from those who aren't, I’ve noticed one
simple difference that stands out the most - successful people
are often more willing.

What exactly are they more willing to do than others?
Here are six key activities:

5. They Prioritize Daily Exercise -The role of daily exercise can’t be understated in cultivating success in life. Those with successful daily habits understand that exercise breeds undeniable benefits like a sense of accomplishment, rejuvenation, and improved mental performance.

For this reason, even those who have already achieved great
success - like billionaire Richard Branson - never compromise
on their daily workout.

2. They Go to Work to Prosper -Those who are more successful often go to work to get something accomplished. They work to make their dreams a reality, not just to get their eight hours in.

They often have a drive, even a greediness or self-centered
push to get something done. There are millions of people who
go to work every day, yet many don’t put themselves in a
position or mindset to prosper.

Unsuccessful people often approach their work with a more
limiting mindset. They may refer to work in a negative way:
“the daily grind” or “my life as a drone.”

They typically complain as opposed to looking at work as a
means to an end, to create a life of abundance. Work - the
passion for it, the creation of it, your contribution and what
you learn from others - is what typically leads to goals being
met and dreams becoming reality.

3. They Exercise Incredible Drive -The most successful people I know are driven, and they push and shove until the job is done and targets are hit, and then they go again.

They are able to stay focused on getting results. These folks
often keep doing the hard things long after others are only doing
what's comfortable.

Unsuccessful people appear to spend a lot of time in emotions
and considerations that cause them to stop or settle and then
rationalize how these feelings should be satisfied.

What they don't seem to understand is this mechanism of drive
is a muscle that can be developed by practicing non-conformance
with society’s definitions of success.

4. They Never Make Excuses - Regardless of how many excuses they make, successful people often know that it will not change the outcome. Even justified excuses don’t automatically make a project or person successful.

When things go wrong, the successful person often sees it as an
opportunity, not an insurmountable hurdle.

Unsuccessful people tend to spend a lot of energy and time
making excuses, blaming the economy, the customer, prices or
competition. Even if the "excuses" are all true, just complaining
about it likely won't improve the outcome, and successful people
know this.

No matter how justified you are, try never to make an excuse
for any outcome.

5. They Focus on Their Goals Daily - Successful people tend to be focused on success. For instance, the first thing I do every morning is write down my goals - I’ve been doing this for years. It's my experience that if I can stay focused on what I want, I will get it no matter how absurd the goal.

The idea is to make the things you want and haven't yet
accomplished so real in your mind that they become real in
your world.

Less successful people seem to allow anything to drift into
their environments - they aren't controlling what they focus on.

Every day presents an opportunity to set and reach goals
regardless of how large or small they are.

6. They Are Willing to Fail -The old saying, “no risk, no reward” seems to apply to those who are successful. These people often go for it almost with a willingness to fail.

Of course, they aren’t interested in failing, but they know that if
they don’t put themselves in a position to fail, they'll never create
the ability to win.

Unsuccessful people seem to play it safe. They may not speak up
or offer ideas because they operate from a place of fear. They may
be afraid to fail because they are overly concerned with the judgment of others so they do the minimum and try to “fly under the radar.”

Never be afraid of failure, because behind every mistake is an
opportunity to learn. Begin to willingly do these five things, and
you may soon see things change for the better in your business
and life.

Because doing what others refuse to do can give you the edge
you need to find the success you want.

People Weren’t So Lazy Back Then…Putting “Work” Back Into Our Lives

To our ancient ancestors, vigorous activity was part of life, fleeing from predators, hunting for food and other activities for survival necessitated hard exercise on a daily basis.

Now let us fast forward to the 21st Century where technology and automation have replaced much of the physical demands of daily life.

Our modern life has many of us sitting and hardly moving for long periods all day every day.

Our bodies are not designed for this and are still hard wired for hard manual labor to enable our survival just like our ancestors.

Whether we like it or not, our bodies function better, stay well and last longer with vigorous activity and have not adapted to this reduced level of activity.

Without physical “work” muscles that are not used and kept strong will lose mass and become soft, weak and flabby.

This in turn slows the metabolism (the rate the body burns fuel) slowly siphoning away our life force.

Your body isn’t suspended in time, waiting till you might need its strength again; it’s heading in a downward spiral of accelerated aging and declining health.

For some people, the muscle and bone loss, joint pain and energy drain is happening at younger and younger ages – thirties, forties, fifties.

And this is just the beginning; inactivity affects the brain, blood vessels, liver, sleep, immune system, self-esteem and your ability to use glucose.

Your heart and lungs lose their ability to function efficiently and your joints will become stiff, painful and easily injured and your immune system weakens exposing you to disease and illness.

Whether we like it or not, our bodies function better, stay well and last longer when we get regular weight bearing exercise.

Whether you choose to accept, believe and act on that reality or not will affect both the quality and the length of your life.

Everyday activities or tasks don’t count here, to make a difference to this process a proper program strength training exercise needs to be adhered to for “life”.

When challenged by strengthening exercise living parts of your body will continually renew themselves – sweeping out old, cells and tissue, and rebuilding new tissue that is younger, stronger, and healthier.

Without the challenge of weight bearing activity your body has no impetus to renew itself, and your tissues grow old, frail, and prone to injury and disease.

Aging is not some static, irreversible biological condition, it is a dynamic state that in most people can be changed for the better no matter how many years they have lived or how long they have neglected their bodies.

Being physically strong and fit is more than striving to live longer; it is striving to live better and is about living every day to your fullest capacity not just getting by.

The strength of your muscles is the most important health related element of physical fitness as you get older so the solution is really easy.

Restoring strength is paramount to reversing the devastating
consequences of the lack of physical activity in our lives.

We now have the knowledge about how to maintain strength and vitality throughout our entire lives to enable us to be younger, stronger, and more vigorous and feel perhaps better than we have ever felt in our entire life.

Its so easy to transform your body from the inside out, restoring health, improving function, and preventing disease.

We are lucky in that this knowledge is available to make sure we never have to suffer the indignity of our health and mobility being eroded away.

The quality of your life very truly depends on exercise. Take it upon yourself to stay strong and fit to protect your future.

Boosting Testosterone: The Natural Way Is Best

As a man, one of the biggest hormones to pay attention to is testosterone and maintaining optimal levels can mean the difference between feeling “off” every day, to feeling your best.

Since testosterone is an essential hormone, low levels can lead to an abundance of distressing symptoms and effects on the body, from low energy to increased risk of heart disease.

Did you know that roughly a quarter of men over the age of 30 have low testosterone levels, and that the percentage only increases with age?

The benefits men can expect after getting testosterone levels back to a healthy level.

✔️Higher energy levels
✔️Increased muscular strength
✔️Fat loss
✔️Maximized mental function
✔️Enhanced sexual desire and performance
✔️Stress relief and mood improvement
✔️Reduced risk of heart attack, stroke, and death

Here are my 5 top tips you can employ to boost it right now:

Tip #1 Do Full Body Strengthening Workouts
Working the big major muscles through their ranges of movement in a slow controlled manner under an adequate load (strength/weight training) is the number one way to shoot up your manly hormones. This hormone response is most effective when using moderate to heavy weights and putting some real effort into your workout.

Tip #2 Keep Your Workout Short
Regular endurance training (running, biking, rowing etc) will LOWER your testosterone levels. This is due to the spike in cortisol which counteracts testosterone when you train for long periods doing low intensity, high repetition types of physical activity. I recommend 30-45 minutes as the optimal training time. If you cannot do it in that time frame, you are not training hard enough.

Tip #3 Eat More Good Fat
Eating good fats is a major factor in producing optimal levels of testosterone which is also why low fat diets suck! These fats can be found in red meat, avocado, olive oil, almonds, coconut oil, eggs and cheese.

Tip #4 Get More ZZZ’s
Getting enough quality down time is vital to have optimal testosterone levels in the morning when you wake up, between 7-8 hours in fact. Sleeping enough also reduces the amount of stress hormones released which counter act the benefits of testosterone.

Tip #5 Reduce Your Stress
Stress means one thing, cortisol! This hormone is the stress response to when you are in survival mode, so although sleep makes a massive difference. Work on your mindset to stay in a positive place for more of the day.

It isn’t by coincidence that my Manly Man programme focuses around stress reduction techniques, positivity, short intensive workouts and quality nutrition not low fat fad diets.

It is these simple strategies that will transform your body, health and fitness, boost your testosterone levels and revitalize your life.

The All or Nothing Approach To Health And Fitness: Don’t Sabotage Your Good Intentions

Does your fitness or exercise plan have two speeds, turbo and
idle? If so, you might be stuck in an “all or nothing” style of thinking.

This way of thinking means you have to go “all in” if you want to achieve great results. You have to do everything correctly, or you might as well not even try.

You either strictly stick to that eating plan and make sure every meal is perfect, or you screwed up because you ate that damn cupcake and go back to previous habits.

All, or nothing.

Maybe you can attest to the failure of the “all or nothing” approach from past experience.

While it is great to be capable of pouring yourself into change,
extreme change can undermine the potential for long-term success.

When was the last time you tried a new exercise or eating plan?
Did you start them thinking, “I’m going to succeed this time and follow this thing perfectly”? And…for a few days, or maybe even a week, you followed the rules without deviation.

But then, a special occasion came up or it was someone’s birthday, or a holiday, or there was a “shout” at your work. And you ate or drank something you “weren’t supposed to” because it was off-limits from your eating plan.

“I screwed up,” was likely the thought you had because you broke the rules and this one slip up then turned into an entire day of “bad eating” because you rationalised that you already screwed up and ruined the day, so what the heck?

You’ll start over again tomorrow! And the vicious cycle continues. You start back with determination but, inevitably, something again will derail your efforts.

It’s either all, or nothing. Follow the “rules” perfectly, or abandon the idea.

The all or nothing approach with nutrition or exercise causes people to fail way too often, or rather: the all or nothing approach fails them.

You only have to look to the New Year’s resolution crowd to discover the truth of the failure from an all or nothing mind-set. January 1st is the date most people radically change their eating and workout habits.

They say they are going to workout 6 days a week and completely change how they eat.

From out of shape couch potato to “I’m going to look like him/her!” in the shortest time possible is the goal, and the all or nothing approach is the golden ticket.

We all know what happens: Toward the end of January and into February, the “all or nothing” crowd has progressively decreased. Sure they were 100 percent “all in” at the beginning but because they likely “screwed up” a few times, they were back to nothing.

It was too hard, too difficult. It was unrealistic and impossible to maintain. They gave up … AGAIN. Apparently they could not go
“all in.”

For most people the all or nothing approach doesn’t work.
If you are reading this and are nodding in agreement because
that reality is all too familiar, then AVOID the “all or nothing”
mentality and adopt an approach that, instead will actually
work so you can achieve and maintain, great results.

You must have flexibility with your health and fitness regimen
so when those events happen you can adapt and that is something the all or nothing approach doesn’t allow.

If you want to achieve and maintain results you must be able to adapt to the situation or new circumstances.

Health and fitness, after all, is a lifelong journey, not a quick-fix solution and for that to happen what you do must fit into your life and not demand you revolve your life around it.

Sure, it’s challenging to stick with a regular exercise program or a healthy eating plan even WITHOUT the responsibilities of everyday life – kids, spouse, home, job and so on.

Having to work late one day can mean you miss a workout. The thing is, missing a workout does not mean you have blown your whole regimen. Being affected by life’s little bumps does not mean you are weak. It means you are simply human.

But if you have been pressuring yourself to be perfect, it won’t
be long till you decide you are weak or that your job/family/life
whatever is conspiring to keep you out of shape. And then, you give up.

It isn’t your life that’s doing the conspiring – it’s you and your
thoughts. Getting to the gym once or twice a week or sticking to a healthy eating plan 50 percent of the time is not failure.

You need to be flexible, especially at the beginning of a lifestyle
change. Yes, it’s important to make a plan and do your best to
stick with it.

But if (when?) you falter, let your missteps help you create an even better plan that suits your real life, not the imaginary obstacle-free life when you first embarked on your plan.

Its easy to forget lifestyle changes are not a single quick fix process. It is not a happening or an event. It is the result of 100’s of tiny steps day after day, workout after workout and healthy meal after healthy meal.

It is a systematic process, one that doesn’t produce huge changes
overnight and is not a quick sprint. The problem with all-or-nothing
thinking is that it does not take this into consideration.

Take it from me: There is joy in simply letting good enough be good enough as when it comes to health and fitness, “something” trumps nothing, every single time!

Its Not Looking Good For The Future Of Man…

As our modern world accelerates, men are getting weaker - they have 20% less testosterone than men the same age did just two decades ago.

S***m count too, has dropped 50-60% in the past 40 years.

Not only do today’s men produce less s***m, but the s***m they produce is of lower quality and on average, 15% of men experience infertility.

Grip strength (an obvious indicator of muscle strength, and also a measure of health), has declined by 20% in the last 30 years.

From 117 pounds of force to 98 - that now matches that of older women.

Studies also show children are less fit. For example, today it takes a child 90 seconds longer to run a mile than it did 30 years ago.

Simply put, we are getting soft – and no group is getting softer faster than our young men.

The very idea of manual labour is completely alien to them, and if they were asked to help, say, build a back porch, the task would exhaust them to the point of uselessness.

Low energy, like wanting to lay on the couch and watch a screen all day, may look like depression, but is also synonymous with low testosterone.

Indeed, testosterone helps motivate us, gives us energy, drive, cognitive clarity and innovation.

As one can imagine, testosterone decline on a grand scale is a significant problem, not only for individuals, but for society.

Guys you are on notice as this is not the life men were made for.

Men were made to embrace the hard road. To endure. To battle. To be strong.

To take risks. To Protect. To fail.
To get hurt. To overcome.

For thousands of years, this was the man’s life.

Alas, it is no more. We are past that.

Now we clap to turn our lights on, have food shipped to us in a box, spend our days looking at memes and cat videos, and put leashes on our kids so they don’t run off.

Men now wear make-up, nail polish and skirts and there is even such a thing as a “man bra”.

Men are at a crossroads and its killing them, literally, with rates of su***de, mental illness, and addiction never been higher.

And for those who aren’t dealing with those issues, they are still stuck wondering why they are not happier, why they are not more content with a life that’s filled with more comfort, leisure, and entertainment than ever before in history.

Army recruits now - show up with weak bodies and soft minds.
Impossible to make them strong due to a lifetime of atrophy in front of a screen, much the same way a body is permanently damaged in it's youth by starvation in 3rd world countries.

This new generation grew up playing video games and being told nobody is a loser and everybody is a winner.

Weak bodies, weak minds.

When we win at a competition, we feel good about our social status, feel a sense of personal empowerment and get a testosterone boost.

Hormones act as our internal keys, turning on and off various biological processes, including our metabolism, how we grow and look, how we act and behave, and also what we desire.

Any hormonal imbalance can throw our body out of whack, not unlike a large symphony orchestra, in which an out of tune instrument can ruin the performance.

When nosediving levels of testosterone as we are seeing become widespread, we are headed for uncharted waters.

Not only for individual health, but also our future.

Hormones, and namely testosterone, is an essential evolutionary attribute that helps make the world go round.

The human body is hardwired to be very physical and without enough of it, the body and brain go into shut down mode to make room for the next generation to have the available resources.

This means accelerated aging and a greater disease risk which really is the “use it or lose it” scenario in full swing to clear no longer productive or necessary organisms away.

This is true efficiency and is what has allowed the human race to prosper.

I believe the lack of physical exercise and organized sport is much to blame for this decline of manhood.

Its now “an option” to do it, but it isn’t really as we are now witnessing what happens without it.

If you have a young male in your life, you can help resist these changes and encourage him to do physical things, sport, the gym, anything that gets him moving.

Better still go with him or if you have no young man in your life get stuck in yourself and be a role model for others so they can see what a manly man looks and functions like.

Our future survival depends on it.

Your Level Of Health And Wellness IS Dependent On What
You Do (Or Don't Do) Every Day

We often take our health for granted paying little attention to future consequences of negative lifestyle habits.

The average human being IS interested in longevity despite
behavior to the contrary.

There would be very few people in the world, who would with honesty say that they want to die young.

Furthermore, no sane person would wish upon themselves such illness as cancer or heart disease yet they continue to do the very things that have been proven to put them at risk for developing these “lifestyle” diseases.

Because disease and signs of the aging process creep up slowly most people wait for a major health crisis before they are motivated to improve their health or even begin to take any responsibility for it.

However, when a “sickness” crisis occurs the human body has already arrived at a broken-down state and it may be well too late.

How valuable does health become then, is it the “spare no expense, give me the works, whatever it takes man, I don’t want to die”.

Then so much time, effort, money, stress and grief are then poured into trying to save ones life?

Isn’t it an easier option to at least do one of the major things like proper exercise that could prevent this situation.

With the old “sickness treatment system” we wait till we are sick before we do anything about it.

But any symptoms of any illness should be seen as warning signs, a wake up call and an indication that change is necessary.

Its great news there is a new model of wellness emerging that uses the power of proper exercise supported by healthy eating as both a preventative and healing mechanism.

This means each of us takes personal responsibility for our own health and well-being. This is exactly what is needed to make the positive changes necessary that will reduce human and financial losses associated with life threatening diseases.

As most of the present modern day diseases are considered
“lifestyle diseases” and strike prematurely and are totally
preventable it makes good sense to start with the quality of the activity in your life.

Its important to know the activity performed has to be intense enough to stimulate the necessary hormones that tell every cell in the human body to continue to repair, renew, rejuvenate and replace themselves.

And the perfect exercise is strengthening exercise.

This means the major muscle groups are taken through their ranges of movement in a slow controlled manner under an adequate load.

Forget the “just go for a walk” or “just find something you enjoy” nonsense. This hasn’t helped reclaim people’s strength and fitness; it just causes them to waste time on activities that are totally ineffective.

Wellness is something you don’t think much about until it is taken away from you. But, everything about you and your life rises and falls with your level of wellness.

Your simple but effective exercise program supported by healthy eating is the best place to start to ensure this and I have the perfect program for you to get started or to take you what you are doing up a few notches.

If You Are In Denial About Exercise - Expect A Backlash

They say you are only as young as you feel but if you do not do enough vigorous activity you will not feel very young no matter what your age.

As we go through our busy modern day lives it is easy to put off getting around to starting a proper exercise program.

But as the years slip by your body isn’t just frozen in time waiting for you to get moving, it is heading in a downward spiral of accelerated aging.

The very dangerous th*****me of denial, pride and laziness will always be followed up by some unwanted consequence to your health.

It is surprising that many people view exercise as an ‘optional’ extra. But if they are fully aware of what happens to the human body without it they may not be so keen to avoid it.

If we decide not to make time to maintain our strength and fitness, the consequences may not be obvious in the short term.

It could be tempting to engage in wishful thinking and say to yourself: "If I don't work out, nobody is going to know the difference?"

And that may be true, but only for a while.

It takes time, years, even decades for a lack of proper physical activity to take its toll on our bodies.

For starters your muscles if not used and kept strong will diminish and become soft, weak and flabby.

Muscle is just the beginning; the bones they are attached to will also become weaker and more brittle and your posture will take on an aged look.

Joints deteriorate without strong muscles to support and cushion them and become stiff, painful and easily injured.

Daily tasks and activities will start to become harder so you start to avoid them and further accelerate the downward spiral.

The loss of muscle tissue is usually accompanied by an increase in body fat putting extra strain on all systems including the heart which grows weak and scrawny from disuse.

The increased body fat changes the balance of fats in the blood leading to heart attack and stroke and alters sugar metabolism increasing the risk of obesity and diabetes.

Inactivity also affects the brain, your mental stability, your moods, your anxiety and stress levels.

Your career will suffer, you will likely experience chronic fatigue and loss of self esteem.

All in all not a pretty picture and unless you start to take an active role and change this situation these problems will only get worse.

Recent research proves that it isn’t age that brings about the above conditions – it is a life without enough physical activity to keep one strong and vital.

If muscle strength is not used on a regular, vigorous and ongoing basis you will lose it – it is really that simple.

This is an extremely high price tag to pay for a sedentary or inactive lifestyle.

If you’re in a panic now because you’re 40, 50, or 60 or even older and you have not been exercising properly, don’t worry because here’s the good news: it is NEVER EVER too late; you don’t have to let this “disuse” syndrome effect you.

Enter strength training exercise and its dozens of positive benefits.

Here is something easily accessible to you that will improve muscle tone, increase strength and energy, flexibility, power, endurance, and help you lose unwanted body fat.

It will strengthen every single cell, organ, tissue, body part and system in your body.

Strength training is the ultimate tonic for rejuvenating and revitalizing your whole body and your life.

Don’t delay, get started right away and reap the priceless, youthful health benefits of a proper exercise program.

As you embark on your mission of increased health and wellness, remember that you are investing in something near and dear to your own heart – your own life and your own future of healthy living
