My clinic space today 🌺
Since the pandemic (and maternity leave) I had to give up my indoor clinic space. But now I make house calls... more convenient for you, and much more enjoyable 😎

Yes, this! 👏 👏 👏

Repost:

Whenever I encounter a new ✨opportunity✨ for personal growth, I tend to go after it like a school assignment.

How can I solve for X, to figure out Y I am the way that I am??

But sometimes there is no answer. Or at least not in my desired timeframe (which is ASAP, plz).

And maybe that is the answer. The not knowing. The patience required to let it unfold. And the space we allow to exist between the question and the answer.

The Feldenkrais Method was given a shout out in a recent article about somatic movement practices.
👏👏👏
“The Feldenkrais Method, created by Moshe Feldenkrais, does that and more with its system of exercises that zone in on skeletal function and self-awareness through movement. It’s slow, methodical and controlled. Sometimes the movements seem imperceptible. You are told to hold back, and you are also on your back a good deal. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy.”

Love these simple but effective moves! ❕Repost ❕

What position do you use your phone in?
I was feeling a bit rounded inwards this week, and this simple movement has brought some much-needed releif!

Give it a try!

1. Sit or stand comfortably.
Notice where your shoulders hang in this moment.

2. arms at shoulder height...
rotate palms up, then palms down.
Go slow. Explore what feels good.

3. look to the right as you reach to the right,
look to the left as you reach to the left.

4. Mix and match rotating one palm up, the other palm down as you look and reach.
Have a bit of fun.
See how many different combos you can explore.

5. Simply rotate palms up and down.
Has anything changed?

6. Let it all go, arms resting.
Notice where your shoulders hang now.
What feels different?

If you do notice a difference, let us know below and...

This image immediately gives me a sense of calm, pleasure and joy. What a great reminder that we all have the ability to feel this was whenever we need a little pick me up.
Uplifting songs, conversations, images or - dare I say - MOVEMENT 💃 can get you where you want to go!
Give yourself a break from the never ending news/media cycle. Your nervous system will thank you! 🙏

This year has taught me the beauty of slowing down. 🍃
Prior to the pandemic, I was working 6 days a week and felt stretched thin. My husband and I were ships in the night and I was pushing through because I couldn’t fathom another way.
This year also made me a mother... a job I didn’t know I could love so much. I am thankful for the opportunity to spend more quality time with my husband and little babe... and those 6 day work weeks? Well, that won’t be happening any time soon and I’m okay with that 😙

The other day I woke up with (!!!) a raging tension headache. How unfair is that?
I spent a lot of time the night before staring at one (or all) of my three screens - you know what I’m talking about 😣 and my eyes needed a break! Even a full night’s sleep didn’t seem to do the trick (was I stress dreaming?)
Remembering a handy Feldenkrais lesson which had helped in the past, I distilled the essence of the hour-long lesson here for you.
If you have 2 minutes to spare, you will feel better in no time!
If you have time and want to do the full lesson, check out my YouTube channel (link in bio). It’s the 3rd lesson in the “Postural Pain Relief” series.
Let me know if you try this out!Comment below.

Did you know that in addition to my private practice, I work full time as a PT for a home health agency?
Today, I go back to that job after 8 months off (4 months pre-baby - due to Covid concerns, and 4 months after she was born). Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve been out there talking to and treating patients!
And this little munchkin will be staying with my lovely in-laws at “Peach & Pop’s Academy” 😂 while I’m back at work.
I am truly blessed to have this support system!
Wish me luck!! 🍀
