Courageously Resilient Fitness by Damaris Lerdo I am courageously resilient to achieve a healthy balance between family, nutrition, and fitness. I am a wife and mother to an active son.

I began my fitness journey by doing P90X when it first became popular and I lost over 30 pounds. Soon after, I became a full-time nursing student, in addition to being a full-time employee in the federal government, wife, and mother. I was so busy that I was running on empty with no time to invest in my health. Needless to say, my weight came back, and gained even more. I successfully completed Nursing school; however, I realized how much I sacrificed my health, body and family in order to achieve that dream. I am ready to conquer a total body and mind transformation, achieve a healthy balance and help others who identify with the struggles in the process. I am in love with the 2B Mindset nutrition plan, as well as Barre Blend and 21-Day Fix fitness programs. I am resiliently working on my transformation and I would love to share this journey with others. As an Independent Beachbody Coach I want to help others by teaching them how to set goals, get fit, and eat healthy along the way. Happy Monday!!! New week means a new opportunity to go for what you want. Today’s affirmation was “Am I walking on the wild side?” Walking on the wild side means doing things differently, changing it up and opening up to new experiences.

I’m definitely walking on the wild side today!! 🤣🤣 I woke up earlier than usual, drank my energize before coffee and pushed play to get my workout in. I left my clothes picked out last night and set them by the bed to have no excuse. It worked!!! 🥳

✨Building the life of your dreams, reaching your goals on any level means there’s a certain level of trust you have to have. Trust in the small things, trust in the process, trust in yourself, trust in the good days and the bad days.

✨If you consistently show up for yourself and take action, amazing things will unfold before your eyes. Make a choice to stay the course even when it seems hard. This is how confidence is built.

I used to think that eating healthy meant I could not go out to eat and enjoy time with friends or family.

Well guess what, I was so wrong. Learning how to balance my meals and how to make better choices allows me to go out and enjoy myself without the guilt.

I hurt my neck last week and had to take a forced rest since Thursday. Glad to be back today to pick up Week 2 where I left off. I had to take it easy with no weights since I’m not all well yet but got it done and it felt so good!! 🎉🎉

Part of growing in this health esteem journey is learning to listen to your body and what it needs. Sometimes you have to rest physically. That does not mean you have to derail in every aspect. You can still dial in your nutrition, continue working on your mindset and jump back in when ready.

I don’t know about you, but I just absolutely love to eat ice cream in the summer months. 🍨 Ok, maybe not just summer…🤣

The only problem is that I am left with guilt and an upset stomach after I eat it. 😩

Well not anymore!! I found a recipe that allows me to indulge in the treat but does not leave behind guilt or feeling yucky. I absolutely love it!!! I’m leaving the recipe below in case you want to try it.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Nice Cream:

✨Ingredients:

½ large banana, cut into chunks
¼ cup / 60 ml unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
1 Tbsp. all-natural smooth peanut butter

✨Instructions

Place banana in plastic bag; freeze for 4 hours, or until completely frozen.
Place banana, almond milk, Shakeology, and peanut butter in blender (or food processor); cover. Blend until smooth.
Serve immediately or freeze in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. If frozen, let sit out at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving.

For the longest time I tried to find the energy to exercise and constantly felt defeated because I was just tired all the time.

Well, I found something that gives that little boost of energy I need to either get going in the morning or after work to get my workout done! I just love my Go-Go juice!!!

There’s joy in the little things. Any little bit of help to get me moving and grinding towards my goals.

😓Today is one of those days that I have lots of things on my to do list and it almost seems like not enough time. Normally, I would have prioritized everything else and put my workout to the bottom of my list.

🥇Well, not today. Today I made myself a priority. Did my workout, ate a healthy breakfast and off I went to take in the day. Something just feels different when you really want and are ready for change. It’s easy to blame someone or something else for the lack of action. It’s harder to look inwards and face the reality. We can be our own worst enemies.

I know so many other women are guilty of the same. It’s time we invest in ourselves ladies. We cannot serve from an empty cup!!! Are you with me? 🙌🏼🙌🏼
