COVID-19 OPSSA Update
To our dear OPPSA members. To say COVID-19 threw a wrench in our plans would most definitely be an understatement. This pandemic has uprooted our lives and made us feel like we live in an upside down universe.
As we monitor the updates from the CDC, we still do not feel that the time is right to gather for our CE courses at this time.
We have been considering the idea of creating a pair of weekend learning seminars (6 hours each) to take place in September and October. While this may not be ideal for most, it will give those who can attend the opportunity to earn the 12 OPSSA credits in two courses instead of six.
The above is still up in the air as we still do not have a venue secured that will allow for our group to meet. Most of the practices we have gathered in the past aren’t large enough to accommodate the appropriate amount of social distancing per the CDC guidelines, and most affordable hotels & event centers are not booking events right now.
Ultimately, if we are unable to find suitable arrangements to meet, our 2020 OPSSA course gatherings will canceled and we will reconvene again, hopefully, in 2021.
We hope that it won’t get to that; however, we are looking at this at all possible angles.
To those of you who had paid your membership through this year, you will stay active until next year if we do decide not to meet in 2020. Everyone else’s dues will be collected the next time we meet.
