Our comprehensive eye examination involves more than just how clearly you see. Dr. Pedro Cuba, Optometrist will also conduct a thorough ocular health evaluation including, screening for glaucoma, cataracts and other diseases. This may include dilating the pupils to get a better internal view of the eye. This Monday April 8th a solar eclipse will be viewable in Texas!, while will be an awesome experience, it is important to take safety precautions to avoid eye injuries.
Solar or eclipse retinopathy is a photochemical injury in your macula (central retina/back of your eye) due to eclipse view exposure for a short duration.
Hope not but if you believe that you may have overexposed your eyes without protection during the eclipse and see blurry let us know, Dr Cuba will usually run a Optical Coherence Tomography and Optomap test as shown in these picture.
