About UT Health San Antonio ECHO
UT Health San Antonio ECHO uses the ECHO® (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model developed by University of New Mexico to partner with providers and healthcare workers in underserved communities including in remote and rural communities to increase their knowledge in a healthcare related area so that they can provide necessary care to patients in their communities.
The heart of the ECHO modelâ„¢ is its knowledge-sharing networks, led by expert teams who use multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers. In this way, primary care doctors, nurses, and other clinicians learn to provide excellent specialty care to patients in their own communities.
