Arrow's story is inspiring, showing the positive change that practices such as Harm Reduction can create in an individual's life.

Harm reduction is an evidence-based approach comprised of a wide range of strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences. This approach aims at improving the physical, mental, and social health of people who use drugs.

To learn more about Harm Reduction, consider checking out our Harm Reduction ECHO series. This series focuses on combating stigma, reducing misinformation about Harm Reduction strategies, and learning about evidence-based practices. As well as introducing strategies to prevent harmful health or mental health impacts.

If you would like to attend one of our sessions, register for free on the link provided. Our next Harm Reduction ECHO is being held TODAY, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5th, from 12 to 1 p.m.!

About UT Health San Antonio ECHO

UT Health San Antonio ECHO uses the ECHO® (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model developed by University of New Mexico to partner with providers and healthcare workers in underserved communities including in remote and rural communities to increase their knowledge in a healthcare related area so that they can provide necessary care to patients in their communities.

The heart of the ECHO model™ is its knowledge-sharing networks, led by expert teams who use multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers. In this way, primary care doctors, nurses, and other clinicians learn to provide excellent specialty care to patients in their own communities.
