Spotlight Saturday – Cristy Flores, RN 🌟
Since joining Morningside Ministries as Director of Nursing at The Manor two years ago, Cristy Flores has led with compassion, vision, and heart. With over 19 years of experience in long-term care, Cristy brings not only deep clinical expertise but also a personal passion for serving seniors. A native of Zapata, Texas, Cristy's passion for nursing was sparked early in life while helping care for her diabetic grandmother as a young girl. From those early moments, she felt called to a life of care. After moving to San Antonio for nursing school, Cristy built a successful career as an LVN, ADON, and eventually RN and DON, thanks in part to the guidance of incredible mentors who shaped her approach to leadership.
With Cristy's guidance, The Manor has earned a 5-star rating and has been agency-free since 2024. "I had heard glowing recommendations about Cristy from several respected professionals in senior living," shares Chelsea Casanova-Moreno, Morningside’s COO. "When I saw her being nominated for Nurse of the Year at the THCA conference, it felt it was a clear sign that we needed to bring her on board. Cristy is a compassionate and inspiring leader who continuously pushes her team to improve. She has a remarkable ability to see the bigger picture while ensuring every patient and resident receives exceptional care."
