🏀💪 Returning to Sport After an Elbow Fracture – It Takes More Than Time

An elbow fracture doesn’t just heal and magically return you to sport. Bone healing is just the first step. Getting back to throwing, lifting, tumbling, serving, or competing requires consistent, intentional work.

In physical therapy, we focus on:

✅ Restoring full range of motion
✅ Rebuilding strength (not just the elbow — but shoulder, wrist, and core too)
✅ Improving stability and joint control
✅ Gradual sport-specific progression
✅ Confidence in the arm again

The biggest difference between athletes who successfully return to sport and those who struggle? Consistency.

Small, focused sessions done regularly outperform occasional “all-in” workouts. Tissue capacity builds over time — and your elbow needs progressive loading to tolerate the demands of your sport safely.

Skipping steps or rushing back too soon can lead to setbacks, compensation patterns, and even re-injury.

Healing is biological.
Performance is built. 💥

If you or your athlete is recovering from an elbow fracture, stay patient, stay consistent, and trust the process.

💪🏼 Rotator Cuff Rehab & the NEUBIE: How It Helps 💪

Recovering from a rotator cuff injury or surgery isn’t just about strengthening—it’s about retraining the shoulder to move and fire correctly. That’s where the NEUBIE can make a big difference.

The NEUBIE (Neuro-Bio-Electric Stimulator) uses direct current stimulation to improve communication between your brain and the muscles that stabilize your shoulder—especially the rotator cuff and scapular muscles.

🔹 How the NEUBIE helps rotator cuff patients:
• Improves activation of weak or inhibited shoulder muscles
• Helps restore proper shoulder mechanics and stability
• Reduces protective guarding and pain
• Allows strengthening with less strain on healing tissue
• Supports safer, more efficient movement during rehab

Unlike traditional electrical stimulation, the NEUBIE is used while you move, helping your shoulder relearn proper patterns needed for reaching, lifting, and overhead activity.

Every shoulder is different, and the NEUBIE is just one tool we may use—always paired with skilled, hands-on physical therapy and progressive exercise.

📍 Curious if NEUBIE is appropriate for your rotator cuff rehab? Talk with your physical therapist—we’re happy to explain how it fits into your recovery plan.

Around the 3-month mark after ACL surgery, rehab shifts into a powerful new phase 🚀

At this stage, physical therapy focuses on:
✔️ Building lower-body strength
✔️ Improving balance and neuromuscular control
✔️ Advancing functional movements like squats, lunges, and step-downs
✔️ Preparing the knee for higher-level activities

For many patients, this is when light jogging, agility prep, and sport-specific drills may begin—when appropriate and guided by your therapist.

Progress isn’t just about time—it’s about quality movement, consistency, and confidence. Stay patient, stay committed, and trust the process.

✨ Strong today. Resilient tomorrow.

💥 Tackling Hamstring Tightness with Dry Needling 💥
If you’ve ever struggled with persistent hamstring tightness, you know how frustrating it can be — limiting mobility, decreasing performance, and even increasing injury risk.

One highly effective treatment I’ve found for athletes and active individuals is dry needling. By targeting trigger points within the hamstring muscles, dry needling helps:
✅ Release tension and muscle knots
✅ Improve blood flow for faster recovery
✅ Restore mobility and flexibility
✅ Reduce pain and stiffness

💡 Combined with proper stretching, strength training, and movement retraining, dry needling can be a game-changer for those dealing with chronic hamstring issues or recurring strains.

Whether you’re managing post-workout soreness or rehabilitating an injury, this targeted technique can accelerate healing — helping you move better, faster, and with less pain.

👉 Have you tried dry needling for your hamstrings or other muscle groups? I’d love to hear about your experience!
