March is Lymphedema Awareness Month 💜

At our clinic, we’re proud to stand alongside those living with lymphedema and to support the journey toward better movement, confidence, and quality of life. Lymphedema is more than swelling—it’s a condition that requires education, consistency, and the right care.

Physical and occupational therapy play a key role in managing lymphedema through:
✨ Manual lymphatic drainage
✨ Compression education and fitting
✨ Therapeutic exercise
✨ Skin care and infection prevention
✨ Ongoing patient support and empowerment

We’re especially passionate about supporting our breast cancer survivors and helping them safely return to the activities they love.

If you or someone you know is dealing with lymphedema, know that you are not alone—and there are effective ways to manage it.

Let’s continue to raise awareness, support one another, and advocate for better care 💜

Our Occupational Therapist is helping patients find relief from cubital tunnel syndrome using the Neubie neuromuscular electrical stimulation system as part of their rehabilitation program.

Cubital tunnel syndrome occurs when the ulnar nerve becomes compressed at the elbow, often causing numbness or tingling in the ring and pinky fingers, weakness in the hand, and difficulty with grip or fine motor tasks.

By incorporating the Neubie, we’re able to:
• Activate and retrain muscles affected by nerve irritation
• Improve neuromuscular control and coordination
• Help reduce pain and sensitivity along the nerve pathway
• Support better movement patterns in the elbow, forearm, and hand

This technology allows our therapist to deliver targeted stimulation while guiding patients through specific exercises, helping restore function and accelerate recovery.

Our goal is always the same: help patients get back to the activities they love with less pain and better function.

If you’re experiencing elbow pain, hand weakness, or tingling in your fingers, occupational therapy may help.

🔥 Dry Needling + Hamstring Rehab = Faster, Stronger Recovery

Hamstring tightness?
Recurring strain?
Pain with running, sitting, or bending?

At Liberty Rehabilitation Specialist, we combine targeted dry needling with progressive strengthening to help your hamstrings heal the right way.

💡 Why dry needling?
Dry needling helps:
✔️ Reduce muscle tension
✔️ Improve blood flow
✔️ Decrease pain
✔️ Restore muscle activation

But here’s the key — we don’t stop there.

Once the muscle is responding better, we guide you through:
🏋️ Progressive loading
🏃 Eccentric strengthening
🦵 Hip and pelvic stability work
⚡ Return-to-sport progression

Because true recovery isn’t just about feeling better — it’s about getting stronger and preventing it from coming back.

If you’ve had:
• Recurrent hamstring pulls
• Proximal hamstring pain with sitting
• Tightness that stretching doesn’t fix
• Slow return to running or sport--

🏀💪 Returning to Sport After an Elbow Fracture – It Takes More Than Time

An elbow fracture doesn’t just heal and magically return you to sport. Bone healing is just the first step. Getting back to throwing, lifting, tumbling, serving, or competing requires consistent, intentional work.

In physical therapy, we focus on:

✅ Restoring full range of motion
✅ Rebuilding strength (not just the elbow — but shoulder, wrist, and core too)
✅ Improving stability and joint control
✅ Gradual sport-specific progression
✅ Confidence in the arm again

The biggest difference between athletes who successfully return to sport and those who struggle? Consistency.

Small, focused sessions done regularly outperform occasional “all-in” workouts. Tissue capacity builds over time — and your elbow needs progressive loading to tolerate the demands of your sport safely.

Skipping steps or rushing back too soon can lead to setbacks, compensation patterns, and even re-injury.

Healing is biological.
Performance is built. 💥

If you or your athlete is recovering from an elbow fracture, stay patient, stay consistent, and trust the process.
