I simply love yoga and try to go everyday. Concrete Yoga is best and the instructors are all fantastic. Each session I go to I get total relaxation both through the body and mind. I have been going to Concrete Yoga for about one year and like I have said I usually go once a day every day. Since going to yoga my last medical check up was outstanding. Blood pressure is great and all of my lab numbers were very good. I follow a good diet and eat plenty of vegetables and stay away from sugars and fried foods. Yoga gives me energy every day and both my mind and body feel at ease. Every one I have met at the classes have been friendly and they also seem to be getting a lot out of the yoga classes like me. I am from China and do not communicate very well with the English Language. I do however speak and understand some English. The instructors through their slow basic instructions along with the way they demonstrate the various types of movements make the classes very easy to learn for me. Concrete Yoga is a great way to start a day or end a day . I am very grateful that I found this place. Concrete Yoga is the best.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: CARLY

I found Concrete Yoga in 2022 after moving to Cibolo with my husband on military orders. I was searching for a community to practice with and instantly was drawn in by the charm of the old house studio. I had recently completed my 200 hr YTT and wanted nothing more than to offer classes at Concrete. I still remember my demo class with Angie and the sense of belonging she left me feeling after. The Concrete community became a place where I could hold space for others while they simultaneously held space for me. My practice and offerings have evolved as I’ve gone from being a new teacher, through pregnancy, and now as I embark on my journey through motherhood. I am so grateful for my Concrete community and look forward to continuing to teach alongside each of you.
The light in me sees and honors the light within you.

There’s something truly transformative about finding stillness through movement. As the body settles, the mental noise begins to fade—thoughts become clearer, and the space to reset and reconnect with yourself gently unfolds. Yoga isn’t a competition; it’s a deeply personal journey. We each face our own emotions, yet we support and heal alongside one another—and there’s profound beauty in that shared experience.
When my husband and I moved here two years ago, one of the first things I searched for was a yoga studio. I found exactly what I needed at Concrete Yoga. It gave me more than a place to practice—it offered friendship, structure, a sense of community, and a safe space to simply be myself. Each teacher brings something unique, guiding us through diverse flows that make yoga accessible and enriching at every level.

Please welcome Martha to our amazing teaching team! You can catch her class Tuesdays at 7pm and often as a sub for other classes.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: MARTHA

My Name is Martha. I was born in Tijuana, Mexico. I have been living in the United States for more than 40 yrs. I discovered Yoga in my late 30s and it changed my life.
Yoga has not only strengthened my physical body, but has also enriched my life with focus, balance and greater calm due to Yoga’s Meditative qualities.
In 2022, I decided to go back to school to get my Yoga Training Certification. I earned the 200 hr CYT, then a few months later, i earned the YIN Certificate as well.
I continue to learn and explore my Yoga practice. I mainly teach Vinyasa Flow. Although lately I have been introducing the YIN practice too. I really enjoy the contrast that the practices offer.

I’m very happy to join the Concrete Yoga Community and to bring my own unique style to the studio.

Melissa's energy shines just as brightly as her fabulous style! It's so inspiring to watch her take control of her breath and focus her mind. We love it!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: MELISSA
Yoga first came into my life as a suggested “alternative” therapy for a physical ailment. My first day of class, I had no idea of the journey I was embarking on and the extensive impact that yoga would have in my life. Though I've practiced regularly for the past 18 years, it wasn’t until a few years ago that this "feel good workout" transformed into the concrete foundation that sustained my spirit while everything around me crumbled.
When life would set up the highest roadblocks or detour me through the deepest valleys, yoga walked alongside me every step of the way. Yoga has been my safe space to heal, my community when I felt alone, and the communicator between my mind, body, and soul. Whenever life's colors gleam with vibrancy and joy fills heart, yoga is my playground to explore, grow, and alchemize my potential.
My greatest dream is to transcend what yoga has brought to my life, and curate a space where others can also explore, tune into self-love, slow down, reconnect to their breath, feel their heart beating, and quiet the mind... All of which I have found at Concrete Yoga.

A huge THANK YOU to all of my teachers at Concrete Yoga who have inspired me, mentored me, nurtured my progress, and have celebrated my growth.

The many faces Kristy has seen come through our doors are always greeted with her radiant smile and uplifting attitude. We absolutely adore her!

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT KRISTY:

My yoga journey began 26 years ago with some prenatal yoga. In 2014, I took my practice to new heights by earning my teaching certification, and in 2016, I opened my own studio in my two-car garage, aptly naming it Yoga Garage. Within two weeks, I had a steady flow of students and quickly outgrew the space. Then, as destiny would have it, Angela opened Concrete Yoga. We became fast friends, and I closed the garage doors to join CY!

What began as a way to alleviate work stress and correct my posture evolved into an exercise I genuinely love. I thrive on the energy of the room, often losing myself in the joy of witnessing my students grow in confidence, strength, and progress. The music I play, the rhythmic cadence of our synchronized breath, and even the occasional laugh or grunt inspire me. I can feel the energy of the space and its occupants, guiding me to either tone down the class or amp it up.

My classes begin and end with intention; the journey in between changes daily. Savasanas hold a special place in my heart. They offer a moment to escape and delve deeper into yoga. I often share a feeling or a vivid image from my mind, taking my class along on the journey. Some awaken in tears, while others feel invigorated. Yoga is not just for those facing challenges; it's a practice for anyone seeking a profound connection with themselves. It’s about finding forgiveness and acceptance within one's own body, understanding aches and pains, and moving forward with clear intention.

When you step into Concrete Yoga, you’re not merely attending a fitness class. You’re joining a community of like-minded souls who often become friends, sharing experiences before and after class. Our “regulars,” as I affectionately call them, understand the deeper meaning of “Don’t just be here, BE HERE!”

I originally went to a class because I bought a shirt at Cibolo-fest and got to try classes for a week. At that time, I had no intention of making yoga part of my routine. I tried out the different classes and instructors. I knew how my body and mind felt before going to a class, and I immediately recognized how much better I felt after. I am an ironman triathlete and ultramarathon runner and this has helped my athletic journey in many ways! I noticed that the classes were small, lots of people knew each other, and I liked that no matter what someone's body size/age/gender was, they were yogis!! It has been about 3 years and I am still learning and growing. I often come to class with my brain overloaded (from work) and when I leave an hour later I am relaxed and focused, had a few giggles, and got to say hi to my friends. I enjoy attending the fun pop up classes too. The instructors do a great job of thinking of fun ways for us to learn and grow together. When friends or family come and visit from out of town, I always make them come to a class with me too!

My yoga journey began with curiosity. I was searching for answers to life's big questions, like the disparities in birth conditions, the path to peace with myself and others, and many more.
Today, I view yoga as one of the most comprehensive tools for personal growth, enabling me to nurture my physical, mental, and emotional well-being. As an instructor, my goal is to share the techniques that yoga offers.
My first experience at CONCRETE YOGA STUDIO as a practitioner left an impression; I loved the studio's design and the unique teaching style of each instructor. This led me to complete my 300-hour training within their community. I'm incredibly grateful to Angela for the opportunity to teach in such a beautiful space and be part of this supportive community!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: QIANA
My yoga journey started about 25 years ago when I took a couple of classes at the community college in my hometown just to see what it was about. After I got married and the military moved us around I tried yoga everywhere we were stationed, North Carolina, Alaska, South Carolina, South Korea and eventually Texas.
My daughter told me about how her best friend’s Mom taught yoga and that I should go take her class. After sometime time, I FINALLY decided to book my first class and realized that I NEEDED yoga in my life!
I’m not always consistent because life gets hectic, but my mind and body quickly let me know when I’ve been away from the mat too long!
As a woman who wears many hats I crave the grounded peace that yoga helps me experience. Yoga will forever be a part of my life!
