Our Story
Rise Recovery is a nonprofit organization that helps teens, young adults and families through their substance use issues. We believe addiction to drugs and alcohol affect the entire family, so recovery takes whole family healing. Our staff consist of peer recovery coaches, meaning they have experienced addiction themselves and are in long term recovery so they understand the struggle and what it takes to heal, they are a true testament to recovery. We have four age-appropriate groups in order to meet the individual needs of those affected: Youth (ages 12-17), Young Adults (ages 18-35), Family Members (18+) and New Generations which supports, educates and guides siblings and children (age 9-17) of those struggling with substance use issues. We provide the following for each of these groups: group meetings, one-on-one sessions, recovery education classes, and social activities. All are provided at no cost to those who participate. We also partner with the community to educate and provide prevention services to those in need: schools, churches, health care providers and Bexar County justice system.
In 2021, we look forward to a new chapter at our centrally located 2-acre campus, the Rise Recovery Charlie Naylor Campus, which will connect our community to a much-needed life support, recovery from addiction.
There is no more needed time than exactly right now. Across our country, national and local governments are experiencing surges in overdoses, a suspected impact of isolation, economic hardship and hopelessness. This campus will be a critical part of our city’s efforts to overcome and rebuild, and a major step in addressing the mental and behavioral health for youth and families in the greater San Antonio area.
