ve a life free from alcohol and drug use and battering behavior. We are currently partnered with Bexar County Community Supervision and Corrections Department and Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Parole Division in order to achieve these goals. We understand that addiction knows no boundaries and can affect all walks of life. Our approach is designed to educate both the individual and family in order for them to understand the nature of substance use and recognize the impact it has had on their lives. Our staff will provide guidance in the development and implementation of healthy coping skills in order to develop and maintain a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. We provide a variety of drug and alcohol treatment services crucial to the well being of our client's lives. In the beginning of substance use treatment our goal is to help our clients understand their substance use behaviors, educate, and empower them to make healthy changes in their lives. We then challenge them to go deeper and utilize the skills learned to achieve and maintain a healthier lifestyle. We currently offer the following services:
• Substance use assessments,
• Substance use education,
• Individual counseling,
• Group counseling,
• Relapse prevention,
• Treatment verification letters,
• Court appearances,
• Battering Intervention Prevention Program (BIPP).

THC Quick Facts

1. Ways THC is used: THC is used either by inhalation (smoking/vaping) or by ingestion (edibles). When inhaled, effects are felt from a few minutes to 30 minutes lasting up to 6 hours. When ingested, effects are felt from 30 minutes to 2 hours lasting for several more hours. Both of these have risks.

2. Everyone has a different reaction to THC
Reaction and impacts depend on an individual’s: amount of THC used, frequency of use, age, whether it is used with other substances

3. What happens to the brain when using THC?
The brain can feel: Disoriented, paranoia or anxiety, slow reaction time, poor decision making skills, worsened mental health issues including depression

4. Why is THC use more dangerous for Teens? As a teen’s brain is rapidly developing, it increases the chances of addiction. THC use is shown to impact academic performance and mental health.

5. THC Addiction: It’s a common misconception that THC is not addictive, but the truth is that it’s a very addictive substance. 3 in 10 users have Ma*****na Use Disorder (addiction).

We are offering our BIPP Groups both In-Person and Virtually.
Our BIPP Program is a total of 20 weeks, which includes your assessment and orientation, along with 18 weekly groups. Each group is 2 hours in length. These programs are designed to educate and rehabilitate individuals by teaching them to react to various situations non-violently.
