We are a dedicated team of Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDCs), Certified Anger Resolution Therapists (CARTs), Community Health Workers (CHWs) and credentialed Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) facilitators who are invested in providing comprehensive services. Bilingual services are available.

THC Quick Facts

1. Ways THC is used: THC is used either by inhalation (smoking/vaping) or by ingestion (edibles). When inhaled, effects are felt from a few minutes to 30 minutes lasting up to 6 hours. When ingested, effects are felt from 30 minutes to 2 hours lasting for several more hours. Both of these have risks.

2. Everyone has a different reaction to THC
Reaction and impacts depend on an individual’s: amount of THC used, frequency of use, age, whether it is used with other substances

3. What happens to the brain when using THC?
The brain can feel: Disoriented, paranoia or anxiety, slow reaction time, poor decision making skills, worsened mental health issues including depression

4. Why is THC use more dangerous for Teens? As a teen’s brain is rapidly developing, it increases the chances of addiction. THC use is shown to impact academic performance and mental health.

5. THC Addiction: It’s a common misconception that THC is not addictive, but the truth is that it’s a very addictive substance. 3 in 10 users have Ma*****na Use Disorder (addiction).
