While i'm sharing one will smith track I have another of his later songs. I appreciate that his music is motivational more than pop culture friendly. For me, one of the few times I actually listened to hip-hop as a kid growing up was when it was underground rap because they would often talk or sing. For rap like this, it's motivational and brings back some of the early roots of rap. Even historically from an African American perspective in the 70s, rapping is something that you did when you were trying to bring someone of your interest in 2 and understanding of you IE dating or communicating what your life is like. It was that same format that was used that created gangster rap. Well, while I don't prefer gangster rap. I do have an appreciation for an understanding of what someone's going through and what their life has been like.
