Seems like everyone is talking about cortisol and ways to lower it.

It also seems like we like to blame everything on high cortisol:
- Inflammation
- Stress
- Inability to loose weight
- Fatigue
- Cravings
- Gut issues

But what if I told you that the focus should NOT be on lowering cortisol.

I think the focus should be on having a healthy cortisol cycle.

Cortisol is a stress hormone and it’s a hormone that we need. Just like progesterone and estrogen, we need it high at some moments and lower at others.

We want higher levels when we wake up and for cortisol to lower throughout the day. The lower levels being right before bed.

Good news is that it’s really easy to support this healthy cycle: eating breakfast!

When you fast, your cortisol levels stay high because your body thinks it’s in danger.

Food = safety = healthy cortisol levels

Start there and see how you feel. I bet your cravings will diminish, you’ll be less fatigued and you’ll have a more stable mood.

If this still isn’t working for you, I can help you figure out what’s going on and what to do about it. I’m a mom of 3, I know high cortisol and I also know how to have a balance.

Comment CORTISOL and I’ll send you my full guide on how to have a healthy cortisol cycle.

This week is going to be busy- isn’t it always? 😂

I’m going for easy but veggie filled because fiber is priority for all the family because when everyone poops = happy.

1. Turkey chili
2. Chicken tacos with green beans and zucchini
3. Kale salad with beets for lunch
4. Greek style chicken with potatoes, cauliflower and red bell peppers

Simple + nutritious

Healing is a journey, not a destination. Over 41 years, I’ve learned that growth demands patience, resilience, and a willingness to keep showing up — even when it feels slow.

Here are the last lessons that helped me and my clients keep moving forward:

36. Food sensitivities can develop over time, so stay curious.

37. Gut health impacts your immune system more than you realize.

38. Mental health struggles don’t make you weak — they make you human.

39. Healing takes work — it won’t just happen on its own.

40. You don’t have to do it alone — asking for help is strength.

41. Trust the process, even when it feels slow.

Which one surprised you? Or what’s one habit you’re already doing? Drop a quick comment — I want to hear from you.

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Over the years, I’ve learned that tuning into your body and building sustainable habits is what actually moves the needle.

29. Social connection heals in ways supplements can’t.

30. Listening to your body beats following every trend.

31. Perfectionism kills progress.

32. Small, consistent changes beat big, unsustainable ones.

33. Your environment affects your stress and digestion.

34. Healing takes time — don’t rush the process.

35. You are more than your symptoms.

If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels and start making real progress, my 1:1 coaching program is open for sign-ups. We’ll build a plan tailored to your unique body and lifestyle so you can finally feel like yourself again.

Part 4 of 41 things I’ve learned as a therapist and gut health coach: let me know which one which one resonates more!

22. Everything in health is political, whether we like it or not.

23. You can’t heal if you’re always comfortable — growth demands discomfort.

24. Healing isn’t linear — expect setbacks and keep pushing.

25. Your mindset shapes your health more than any diet.

26. Sleep is non-negotiable for gut and mental health.

27. Movement doesn’t have to be intense to make a difference.

28. Hydration is often overlooked but crucial.

Go check out part 1 and 2 👀

I’ve been a therapist for 15 years and a nutritionist for 7 and I’ve learned a thing or two along the way. This is part 3 of the 41 things I’ve learned over the years.

I’d love to know which one resonates more!

15. Life rarely turns out the way you expect.

16. Not everything happens for a reason, and that’s okay.

17. Everyone should go to therapy at some point.

18. Sometimes the solution to gut issues is surprisingly simple.

19. Crying won’t fix everything, but damn, it feels good.

20Eating a rainbow of foods is one of the best things you can do for your gut.

21. Doctors don’t always have the answers — trust your instincts.

This week’s focus is FRESH!

And as always, crazy simple and never go over an hour of prep, not even 40 minutes.

1. Sloppy Joe bowls with sweet potato and green beans
2. Greek chicken with veggies, potatoes and tzatziki
3. Mexican chicken salad for lunch with cilantro dressing
4. Salmon tostadas- a request from my eldest. I’m adding corn, arugula and pickled red onions

What are you making this week? And as always, comment RECIPE for the grocery list and recipes!

You know who I’m talking about.

The ones that seem to have the prettiest Instagram life with all the time and money on the world, perfect health, abs, and seems like a personal chef.

🙄

I have 3 kids, two businesses and a very messy life.

I KNOW how complicated it is to put your health first, to heal your gut in the midst of the chaos

But it is doable. It’s all a matter of organizing your time and setting priorities.

Having support is also beneficial but I know that’s not always the case, that’s why I build my clients’ protocols based on their lives, not mine and not a perfect child free job free life.

We work together to figure out when and where to build healthy healing habits in their lives.

For example, Samantha, a nurse with two kids that works nights: we built a schedule of taking supplements, eating breakfast, sleep and time outdoors based on her schedule and it seemed crazy to her at first- like eating breakfast at 2 pm when she woke up after a shift instead of waiting until dinner.

But this way she was able to eat more calories, more nutrients and this was conducive to her goal of loosing weight and getting rid of bloating. Her labs also looked amazing the second time around- no H. Pylori and a balance of good bacteria in the gut.

Everyone is different, that’s why I don’t believe in blanket recommendations and why working with a practitioner is ideal.

Want results like Sam’s? And working with someone that understands how crazy life can get? DM or comment HEAL and we can talk about the right approach for YOU

Most quit right before you are about to see results.

The issue is consistency, not the biohack technique du jour.

You need to lock in the foundations first:
đŸ”„ Sleep
đŸ”„ Eating whole foods
đŸ”„ Stress levels under control
đŸ”„ Exercising daily

You can’t skip this and go straight into a Whoop, a sauna or 93 supplements if your body doesn’t know how to be healthy.

This is why most people quit, because consistency is the name of the game and it’s easier to pop a pill than to go on a walk.

And when you just can’t handle the bloat or the horrible sleep, instead of working on a root cause and actually fixing the issue, you buy melatonin and a daily laxative, knowing full well this might work but symptoms will come back.

You know it and you pretend you don’t because you are scared of the commitment.

My successful clients are not the ones who follow the protocol perfectly, they are the ones that are consistent and don’t loose sight of the bigger prize:

đŸ”„ Fitting into your favorite jeans- all day
đŸ”„ Sleeping soundly
đŸ”„ Baby butt soft skin
đŸ”„ Predicable and uneventful periods
đŸ”„ Daily BMs

Ask yourself if you really need the $500 gadget or invest those $500 into something that will actually work because you are ready to work it.

DM or comment READY if you are done with the biohacks and ready for the you you have envisioned
