As summer winds down, I’m reminded how much change can stir up in us. Transitions, whether seasons, routines, or relationships- can feel both exciting and unsettling.

Therapy, at its best, offers a steady space in the midst of that shift. A place where you don’t have to carry it all alone, where you can breathe, untangle, and realign with yourself.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how often we wait until we’re totally overwhelmed to ask for support.

And I get it- so many of us are used to powering through, performing well, and holding it together even when we’re emotionally frayed.

But what if we didn’t have to wait for things to fall apart before we got help?

I work with many who seem “fine” on the outside, busy, capable, successful, but on the inside? They’re navigating trauma, people-pleasing, burnout, and big emotions that rarely get named.

If you’ve ever felt like that, you’re not alone.

Therapy doesn’t have to be a last resort. It can be a grounding space to just be human, especially when the world keeps asking you to be more than that.

A note 📝

I graduated a client today. While it was bittersweet, we began to reflect on their journey in therapy. I am beyond proud of them, but more importantly, they are proud of themselves. 😭

I felt compelled to share because the feeling that you’ll experience once you’re on the other side of things might feel unimaginable now, but is so much closer than you think.

I hope that this finds the people who need it, because you can be brave too.

Put a finger down if you’ve said or thought one of these before ✋🏻 The reality is that you’re not alone. We’re often the most critical of ourselves in comparison to our treatment of others.

I recently worked with a corporate group, and most (if not all) reported unhelpful thinking and difficulty reframing to show themselves compassion. Here are just a few examples of how such a simple shift in thinking, a classic reframe, can help reduce our feelings of guilt, shame, and embarrassment- moving into a mindset of forgiveness and understanding.
