New Blog post! Start reading part 6 of my blog on cultivating Mindful Self Compassion.

The Pause:

The elusive pause. It is so difficult to step out of the habit of thought and pause to be with what is actually present in the moment. Even for a long time practitioner of Mindfulness, this practice is imperative to continue cultivating. Our thinking mind does not typically want to be in the present moment especially when there is difficulty. We can easily spend our lives living in the realm of thought instead of in the present moment. We are likely not even aware of the amount of added suffering this causes us.

I just created a new blog post to help you begin 2026 with Mindfulness and Self Compassion. Read my essay here:

Learning about self-compassion began for me with the Mindful Self Compassion Course (MSC) I took back in 2012. However, I found it difficult to practice as I was still filled with self-loathing and deep emotional pain. Self-compassion felt about as far from the truth as it could be. The MSC course provided the opening and knowledge, but I still needed to address the internal turmoil that had plagued me for most of my life. In 2015 , I began practicing with a weekly meditation group or Sangha as they call it in Buddhist circles.
