Today marks four years since I started Winner’s Circle Equine Bodyworks. I’m incredibly grateful for the horses I’ve had the privilege to work with and the clients who have trusted me with the care of their equine partners.

When I started WCEBW at 18, I never imagined I’d be able to grow and carry this business with me while pursuing my Bachelor’s degree. Over the years, WCEBW has helped me grow in more ways than I ever expected. It’s taught me skills that extend far beyond the barn—real communication, how to manage and run a business, how to navigate the equine industry professionally, and how to advocate for equine wellness and education. Most importantly, it has deepened my understanding of horses and horsemanship as a rider, bodyworker, and owner in a way I never anticipated.

Thank you for being part of this... Your continued support means so much to me, and I look forward to many more years of helping horses feel and move their best.

Preventative Care is Key in Equine Performance Success-

Declining performance is often a sign that the body has been compensating for discomfort or imbalance for some time. Don’t wait until you see signs of discomfort, stiffness, or a drop in performance to take action. It is far more effective to incorporate regular bodywork as part of a preventative care plan, rather than waiting for issues to become apparent and trying to “un-do” it.

Regular bodywork can support mobility, prevent injuries, and promote longevity… keeping your equine partner feeling and performing their best.

With sport horses having a well established preventative care plan IS a necessity! There are various approaches to long to list that go into creating a preventative care plan… but here are the steps I recommend taking in the process!

( “WE” meaning Hen and I 🐴)

I am transferring colleges to complete my bachelors degree…meaning I will be moving to LA come this summer! WCEBW will still be partly operating in San Diego at least once a month for clientele whom wish to still support me, BUT also I will expanding our services to those in LA.

Thank you to those who have supported WCEBW in the three (nearly four!) past years in San Diego! ❤️

I'm going to ruffle some feathers here and be blunt ... This is the time of year that drives me insane. Just because your horse isn't working or is working less in the winter, does not mean you should skip bodywork. Over the past month, ALL of my clients have been tighter due to the cold, frozen ground, and lack of movement.

How does less work and colder weather affect the body?

➡️ The elasticity of muscles and tendons are reduced. This means they become less pliable and more prone to stiffness or injury. Muscles may feel tight and less responsive.

➡️ Cold temperatures can slow the conduction of nerve signals, leading to slower and less coordinated muscle movements. This can affect fine motor skills and agility.

➡️ Decreased metabolic rate of muscles, which can result in slower energy production. This may lead to decreased muscle endurance and strength.

➡️ Cold muscles are more susceptible to strains, sprains, and other injuries. This is because they are less flexible and responsive, making them more prone to overexertion or sudden movements.

And a couple of my own reasons:

➡️ Horses do stupid things. They can twist, strain, pull, etc. out in the field. They don't need to be in work to do this.

➡️ The winter allows me to work on things that may have been a constant issue throughout the year. It removes the "outside" influences such as a rider and tack to try to find the cause without me having to tell you to stop riding.

Don't 👏 Skip 👏 Your 👏 Horses 👏 Bodywork
