Crazy to see how the body changes losing just 11 LBs and dropping 2% Body Fat. Gary came to us with the goal of toning up and losing some weight. We lined him up with a workout program tailored to his goals and, most importantly, he followed his custom meal plan, The meal plan wasn’t cutting calories so your body goes into starvation... it’s about making small changes, eliminating and adding a few things. Let’s talk cholesterol for a moment... The myth that consuming dietary cholesterol increases serum cholesterol for most people was debunked years ago and modern medicine has been slow to adapt. Diets high in progressed foods/meats and sugar, and low in micronutrients, by way of insulin resistance/hyperglycemia, oxidative stress, and inflammation will cause your body to increase cholesterol production.
Eat plenty of healthy fats, eat those eggs, and even have that (organic) bacon if you like... I do.

Truth!

I have so many patients with severely restricted diets because of what they think is healthy vs not and constant obsession over it.
I’ve even been there myself! I went from one form of disordered eating (anorexia and binge eating) to another (orthorexia).
Because there is so much information (and misinformation) out there about health and diet, it can be increasingly difficult to know how to eat. Eating healthily is all about balance. That piece of Halloween candy probably won’t kill you, nor will having rice or bread (or insert your favorite “unhealthy” food here) occasionally.
While food is nourishment and required to sustain life, It should also be enjoyed. Life is hard enough without obsessing over every thing you put in your mouth.

Biotin supplementation may interfere with COVID antibody testing. It is known (though often not communicated) that biotin interferes with many labs such as thyroid and other hormones.
If you take any supplements containing biotin (Vitamin B7) you may want to skip at least 3 days prior if you are having COVID antibodies tested, but you should always talk to you doctor before discontinuing medications or supplements.

It’s been a while since I posted a “what is Dr. Tritt eating?” I’m not putting a lot of time into presentation, so what you see is what you get. I hope it looks as tasty as it actually was.
A couple years ago I discovered I was allergic to chicken. So, naturally, I stopped eating eggs as well. Since I am low-carb, breakfast options are slim without eggs.I finally decided to buy some duck eggs and see how I react. So far, so good and they are delicious!
Note that there are greens on my plate. I always try to make sure every meal has a decent amount of veggies.
One thing I always have some issue is eating enough fruit. Many fruits have too much sugar for me, but berries are low glycemic index (meaning they cause a much slower and lower rise in blood glucose and insulin levels).
