Womb & Wellness has been a massive part of my life for the last 6 years. I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside nearly 200 families in that time, each one a gift. I’m so excited to be partnering with two other amazing doulas to expand the ways we serve families in Northwest Arkansas. Social media is one of our final transitions and I am thrilled to be insta-official as Ozark Origins. I hope you’ll continue to follow along on this journey as we walk with others in theirs! 🫶

Spotlight on coping techniques: Labor Combs!

WHAT: Labor combs - even the 98¢ ones you can find at any drug store will do the trick. Just like what they handed you on picture day back in elementary school!

WHEN: Can be helpful at any point in labor, but I find them to be most effective once you cross over into an active labor phase.

WHY: Labor combs are a great form of distraction. They’re an undercurrent keeping your brain busy so that you can focus to breathing through contractions.

As simple as it sounds, this is one of my most effective tools to break out. Are they on your labor packing list? If not, they should be. Or, even better, I’ll bring them with me when I come to support you as your doula!

If you (or your spouse) work for Walmart ( )and you aren’t using your doula benefit, let me tell you how easy it is! The doula program covers up to $1,000 in doula expenses - that you can utilize for birth OR postpartum! (Or both!) Most doulas in the Northwest Arkansas area qualify for this program. If you’re expecting, this is a no-brainer.

Every now and again I get to put on my Doula-tog hat and capture sweet moments like this! ✨ Mom was so strong and dad was there every step of the way supporting her with hip squeezes and encouragement. I love when I get to see birth bring out the best in couples!

I’m excited to be teaching a mini class this December! This is the perfect class if you’re hoping to have a high level of understanding of the birth process, practical tools to cope with labor, and learn how to make informed decisions throughout the labor process. The holidays can be chaotic, so it’s also a great class for anyone who needs to fit in a quick refresher but has limited time on their hands. Feel free to text message me with any questions!

You may have noticed that I stepped away from social media for a bit now… that’s because I was preparing to welcome my own new addition! I am thrilled to have welcomed a sweet baby girl this spring. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my amazing birth team - a few of which you may recognize if you’re a past client! I love working alongside these colleagues, so having them support my pregnancy, birth, & postpartum journey has been such a joy.

I hope to return to birth work in the near future, but I have taken a pause for the time being. When I am accepting new clients again, I will be sure to let you know! ✨
