We've all heard the 10,000 steps a day rule by now. Blah, Blah, Blah!

If you're only getting 1,000 steps (or less) now, it's hard to go from 0-60 overnight- and What if you're,

* in pain
* obese
* fatigued
* injured
* depressed ???

Don't get me wrong - movement is beneficial and any amount is better than none.

20 years ago I was told I'd end up in a wheelchair - that was a gut punch

Now I average 15,000 - 20,000 steps a day, and do goofy things like revisiting skateboarding and learning to surf.

I didn't get here with steps first

I got here with nutrition, nutrients, minerals and lifestyle FIRST.

SECOND - I felt like moving, so now I DO.

and I've seen hundreds of other make these improvements too.

The Basic Premise is,

"You Can't Out Run a Bad Diet"

It's the foundation upon which all health is built.

If you're a man, you get this.

Since we're not typically the most intelligent of the species when it comes to fashion, they've tried to make it easy for us.

Wanna buy some pants? What's your waist size and inseam? We're done 🤣

Since we've been buying our pants like this for decades, many of us have probably noticed that our inseam/length hasn't changed but what has?

The 'Ole waist line measurement.

Here's a quick metabolic health assessment- if your waist measurement is more than half your height there's a good chance you have some underlying metabolic/cellular health inflammation and dysfunction.

A lot of this mid section body fat is what's known as visceral fat, the stuff that wraps around our organs causing inflammation and metabolic imbalances.

It's amazing what turnarounds I've seen in men's health when this one issue is addressed.

* Increased energy
* Lower or eliminated joint & muscle pain
* Multiple blood markers in "range"
* Libido "wink, wink"
* Clarity & focus "Bye, bye brain fog"

Have you ever noticed how our Dogs don't question their nutrition as "It isn't sustainable"?

They jump, bark, wag, etc. just to be nourishing their bodies with real foods, most often the same meal everyday for years 😃

The payoff = energy for walks, Zoomies, play, cuddles, love ...

"Eat Real Food, Enjoy Life"

Eating SNACKS is Not Normal!

Craving snacks between meals may be a sign of underlying imbalances at the cellular level ie. blood sugar, insulin, fat storage, inflammation, fatigue & energy...

It's becoming more common knowledge that one of the biggest drivers of chronic disease is STRESS! (Distress)

and if we remove the "dis" from "dis"ease - we're left with EASE!

The feeling of Ease floods our body with nurturing and healing chemicals, compounds and hormones which support our innate ability to heal.

I don't know about you but I search for activities and thoughts to lower my distress.

None of us can avoid toxins 100% of the time but we can limit them in the everyday habits we have control over - and that might just be enough.😎

It's always BBQ season in SoCal. 😎

A reminder for optimal health, focus your meals & snacks(if you're a snacker) on Protein + Healthy Fats + Non-Starchy Veg & Low Glycemic fruits = Energized Cells and Mitochondria.

Especially the first meal of the day - this one sets you up for success and sustained energy.

Just because we ate cereal, oatmeal, juice, pancakes and waffles as a kid doesn't mean any of those simple carbs are healthy.
Guess what it's not good for kids either - they're just more resilient 🙄

Bonus= if you're fueling yourself correctly during your meals, No Snacking is necessary!
