You can be comfortable and experiment.

You can be comfortable and have a point of view.

You can be comfortable and express yourself.

Dressing in a way that reflects your personality is a form of adaptive appearance investment (part of positive body image) that helps you feel more confident in your body at any size. 

Personal style is something that grows with you as your courage expands, so start small!

💄 A different colour lipstick or nails. 
🎒 Experiment with accessories: shoes, bags, jewellery. 
👗 Choose one thing you haven’t worn in a while and style it in three different ways. 

The difference is you’re not dressing to look attractive, or to hide away.

You’re dressing to express yourself.

You might find you’ll feel a lot more comfortable.

Goals only create pressure when they are driven by threat.

When motivated by compassion, goals create direction.

And without them, we might find ourselves just going through the motions, neglecting ourselves, or settling for things that aren’t really what we want.

You can be ambitious without being self-critical.
You can work hard AND be present in your personal life.

But only when you learn to calm your threat system first.

Goals that matter rarely feel comfortable.

They ask us to face uncertainty, visibility, and the risk of failing or getting it wrong.

Avoiding things out of brings short term relief, but leads to grieving missed opportunities later on.

It’s compassion that creates the freedom to try, not confidence.

The courage to move towards what matters, and the
skills to support our fear, frustrations and disappointment along the way.

Body Image Fundamentals worked well, but now it’s time to expand.

The new program will include:

✓ Compassionate mind training for coaches
✓ Live delivery with experiential practice
✓ Supervision embedded throughout
✓ Trauma-informed approaches
✓ Emphasis on alliance & relationship as an intervention (rather than over-relying on tools + handouts)

And I hope to bring in more guest expert lecturers so you’re learning from a range of people.

May 2026 be the year we stop oversimplifying change,
relying on tools & worksheets to feel like we’ve providing value,
and taking our frustrations and anxieties out on clients...

And start slowing down,
examining our own reactions,
and developing the relational skills that change actually depends on.

I used to struggle to take time off,

And would dread having to tell a client when I had a trip planned.

Then I realised that modelling boundaries and rest isn’t just helpful, it’s necessary.

I starting unpicking the patterns that led to me working this way in the first place.

And far from being upset,

Clients often tell me one of the most helpful aspects of working together is to see that support does not look like overdelivering,

because it gives them permission to do the same.

I’m taking two weeks off over New Year when I head to Thailand, and I’m truly excited.

Not just because my clients benefit from me being rested and restored,

But because I genuinely want that for myself too.

If you’re not as established as you want to be, or you’re feeling financial pressure,

You’re likely to want to lean into your safety strategies even more.

So get curious:

Where am I overfunctioning?
What do I fear will happen if I slow down?
What would help me feel safe enough to rest?
