Whether you are the chief of department or a probationary firefighter, remember - the only reason the fire department exists is that SOMEONE MIGHT CALL 911.

👉🏼 Whatever job you do, remember - you do it in support of the department’s ability to react quickly and professionally when someone needs help. Whether that’s getting on the rig, writing policy, or training members. We all have different jobs towards one goal.

A couple of points I’ve learned along the way from experience and mentors ⬇️

No matter where you go, don’t forget where you came from. Don’t lose the love and passion for the job. Never lose the desire to have the nozzle. And never ask someone to do something you wouldn’t do yourself.

This is a team sport. Our success, safety, and ability to serve are all dependent on our teamwork. Don’t let the team down. 💪🏼

The Akron Volunteers would like to say a big “thank you” to Kyle Portner from Pacer Pumps for the generous donation of Pacer MST-3 Semi-trash pump.

Our current trash pump has provided us with excellent service but is definitely showing signs of old age. Our new Pacer Pump will be added to our fleet to provide assistance in future flooding events and other water related emergencies.

Used yellow Miller TL2 with bourkes. Bought new in January of this year and has seen one small fire, no heat just overhaul. Helmet is in mint shape, has nape suspension. $900 Price includes shipping.
