A client of mine recently asked, “Miss Jessica, do you have a life?” 😆 When I asked him what he meant by that, he said, “you know, a boyfriend?” 😂 This was a gem of a conversation. I loved it. It definitely made me laugh, but it also prompted me to think about my life: Yes! I DO have a life and so much to be thankful for….a wonderful family, a growing business that I launched in the middle of a pandemic, a beautiful place to call home, and a healthy lifestyle to support happiness and adventure for many years to come.

Thanks for the question, kiddo. It made me smile for a lot of different reasons.

A 7-year-old client handed me these beautiful flowers this week and said, “Thank you for supporting me in my speech.” Her mother beamed as she stood behind her and whispered, “We practiced.”
I love what I do. 🌼🌻💗💜💙

I enjoyed the spring showers we had in San Diego last week and I was inspired to hang some original art in the new Communication Spectrums™️ clinic space. Moving offices is a such a project, but it helps when the destination is such an upgrade. Thanks Aunt Cindy for holding on to this project completed by a 3-year-old me! ☺️ 🐥 ☔️ ⛅️ Thank you for brightening my space once again 🌸 🌺 🌹 And thank you for making sure everything is hanging straight! 😆 📏 🔨

Thanksgiving is a little bit different this year, but we’re loving all the turkey games on So are the kiddos!

It’s happening! Clinic space is coming together...and it’s a good thing because I’m seeing some in-clinic clients this week. Super excited to break in the new space, but especially to get back to some in person sessions.

for the win! This toy is a hit during teletherapy sessions. There’s nothing better for a client than watching their speech therapist get her fingers “bit” at the end of every session. It was a great toy for drilling and articulation practice in person, but maybe even better during teletherapy! Who knew? 🐊 😣 😂

Did someone say the CELFP-3 is available? I’m on it! I love getting new assessments, especially ones that I use so often. And, guess what, no more outdated picture of a calculator which consistently draws a “phone” response from kiddos 😂
