These past few weeks have been FULL. One highlight was being honored with the ILIA Award for Restorative Practitioner earlier this month.

It’s such a humbling experience to be recognized for the work I love. Whether that’s showing up in the therapy room, building culturally responsive curriculums, teaching future practitioners, or creating spaces for healing and growth in our communities.

I was already so grateful just to be nominated. To actually receive the award…and then to be surrounded by so many kind words, affirmations, and love from friends, family, and colleagues has been a deeply restorative experience in itself.

To everyone who has shown up for me in countless ways: thank you. Your support makes this work and this recognition possible.
Feeling honored, grateful, and ready to continue the work.

You’re adapting constantly. Going from one task, one role, one space to the next. That takes strength. And even the strongest nervous systems need time to catch up.

Try this simple grounding moment between transitions:
5-4-3-2-1 Reset
* Name 5 things you can see
* Touch 4 things you can feel
* Notice 3 things you can hear
* Identify 2 things you can smell
* Take 1 deep breath
It takes less than a minute, and it tells your body: “I’m here. I’m safe. I’ve got this.”

Save it for later. Use it often. You deserve a pause.

Exciting news! I’ve been nominated for a ILIA Award!
I’m so grateful for the work I get to do supporting people through their healing journeys as a therapist and beyond.

Healing doesn’t only happen in the therapy room. I’ve had the privilege of working with schools, organizations, and spiritual spaces to help create environments where resilience, strength, and thriving are possible.

I’m especially honored to help make therapy more accessible for those navigating trauma, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts.

Grief is HARD…for kids and parents. But healing doesn’t have to always be. 

I am putting together a creative grief workshop (here in San Diego) where parents and kids (one parent + up to 2 kiddos) can connect, express, and process together through hands-on activities.
Think: art, feelings, healing, and leaving with something meaningful you made as a family.

One year ago, I began the process to take a leap and stepped out on my own. What started as a dream became something real…something deeply meaningful. It’s been a year of showing up for others as they step into their strength, build peace in their lives, and grow into their purpose. I’ve had the honor of walking alongside so many incredible people, and I carry those moments with so much gratitude.

This past year has been filled with sessions, workshops, career fairs, panels, and countless conversations that remind me why I started. It’s been full of beautiful, powerful opportunities.
And through it all, my community has held me up. My friends, family, and chosen family have been there encouraging me when things felt heavy, celebrating with me when things felt right. Your words, your presence, your belief in me have mattered more than I can say. SO for now I will just say THANK YOU!

This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to keep building. Happy one year anniversary Ray Of Light Therapy!
