Dyslexia And Entrepreneurship

I am by no means alone: Research from 2003 found that 40% of entrepreneurs were likely to be dyslexic. Another survey from 2007 revealed that 35% of entrepreneurs involved with the study in the U.S. had dyslexia (which was higher than the prevalence in the general population, thought to be about 10% at the time).

These entrepreneurs are my peeps:)) The journey is hard but I can do hard things!

I am the greatest obstacle to my happy life.

Hello, beautiful friends! Ever find yourself on the brink of something amazing and then... bam! Suddenly, there's a roadblock that wasn't there before. And guess what? It turns out, you put it there yourself. That's the sneaky nature of self-sabotage. I started a new notebook today. I how that this time the answers will show up on the pages. This seem familiar as I catch a glimpse of the five notebooks on the chair in the cover of the room. The fear of failure always comes up and I hope that if I just get it perfect it will all work out. Well, that’s not working. I am the bottle neck that wholes back my success. I stop just short of the marks and start again. That stops today!

Navigating the world with dyslexia is not a journey uniquely mine, however it has colored by a spectrum of challenges and triumphs that have deeply shaped my emotional landscape. It's an experience that's taught me resilience, as I've learned to embrace the way I see things differently, finding paths where others see dead ends. This perspective isn't just about overcoming obstacles; it's about discovering my unique strengths in a world that often values conformity.

Feeling misunderstood or sidelined is a part of this journey, but so is the joy of those moments when my ideas click into place in ways others might not anticipate. There's a certain magic in viewing the world through this lens, where patterns emerge from chaos and solutions are hidden in plain sight, accessible through a lens of creativity and lateral thinking that dyslexia grants me.

The emotional toll of dyslexia is real—frustration, doubt, and the exhausting effort to match a pace not made for minds like mine. Yet, it's also brought me unparalleled satisfaction in my successes, knowing the effort and ingenuity they required. It's in these moments that I feel a profound connection to others who navigate life with dyslexia, sharing an unspoken bond of resilience and ingenuity.

This journey has instilled in me a deep empathy for others who face their own battles, a fierce determination to carve out spaces where diverse minds are not just accepted but celebrated. The emotional richness of this experience—its highs and lows—fuels my passion for creating, for imagining a world where the unique way I process information can lead to innovations that change how we all see and interact with our surroundings.

Embracing my dyslexia has been a profound journey of self-discovery, of learning to see it not as a hindrance but as a gift that allows me to contribute uniquely valuable perspectives. I may be afraid today and again tomorrow but I am brave. Be brave !

My greatest fear for the future of my children and grandchildren revolves around the loss of their liberty. To me, liberty is their right to choose their paths, to think freely, to voice their opinions, and to chase their happiness without being unfairly held back. When they lose this liberty, it feels like they lose a piece of who they are; their ability to grow, share their thoughts, and simply exist as they are, diminishes.

This erosion of liberty isn't always loud or clear; it creeps in quietly. Maybe it's a new rule that limits what they can say or do, or maybe it's someone watching them a little too closely, making them second-guess their every move. Bit by bit, the freedom we all cherished seems to fade away, leaving a world that's less colorful, less diverse, and less alive.

Losing liberty doesn't just hurt one person; it's a blow to us all. When my child or grandchild's freedom is cut short, it feels like the community's spirit is fractured. We all need to stand guard over our freedoms, to speak up and to cherish and protect our liberty. It's a treasure that, once lost, can be incredibly hard to reclaim. My hope is that my family will always live in a world where their freedom to be themselves is celebrated, not constrained.
