Dr. Carol McCall and The Institute for Global Listening and Communication focuses on listening and coaching skills training with an emphasis on effective communication among men, women, and children. Recognized as a thought leader and an accomplished professional coach, she empowers men and women to “listen” to their inner voices, practice self-acceptance and recognition for their achievements, and live up to their own expectations and dreams. She is best described as an enthusiastic catalyst that brings out only the best in people, someone who encourages people to incorporate a sound strategy with impact-filled tactics. Dr. McCall’s goal is to have 200 million "masterful listeners"by the year 2020 and to continue to encourage people to expand their capacity to live and work more authentically to increase their innermost talents. Dr. McCall was mentored and influenced by the late well-known therapist-author, Virginia Satir as well as several other influential professionals including developmental psychologist, Eric Erickson; researcher and natural scientist, Jean Piaget (recognized for his theory on cognitive development); psychologist, Eric Berne (author of the book, Games People Play and creator of transactional analysis—a process based on communication between individuals during their immediate interaction); philosopher, author, and 20th century renaissance man, Buckminster Fuller (famous for the geodesic dome and how an individual impacts society); and author,lecturer and transformational master, Werner Erhard, who is best known for the “est training” and transformational models and applications for individuals, groups and organizations. As a budding entrepreneur in 1988, Dr. McCall co- founded with the late Thomas Leonard,(the founder of the International Coach Federation) The College for Life Planning. Then in 1990, she founded the World Institute, which eventually became The Institute for Global Listening and Communication, LLC. This outgrowth is a direct result of her focus on listening and coaching skills with an emphasis on effective communication among men, women, and children. Dr. McCall is joined in business with her daughter, Ana Floyd, and son, Raleigh Floyd (on leave), co-owners of the company.
