Systemic racism permeates all facets of life, significantly impacting mental health. Today, there are ongoing disparities that we cannot dismiss. The effects of systemic racism on the development, experience, and treatment of eating disorders in the Black community have disproportionately created and continue to create barriers and vulnerabilities.

The simple act of being seen and accepted by another person is such a powerful antidote to the urge to retreat and isolate. Sharing in our struggles is a mutually beneficial experience where both the giver and the receiver gain from it 🫂.

Friends and any supportive relationships can be safe harbors 🛟 and anchors ⚓️ when life gets tough. Props to the amazing people that have been there for us when we've needed them.
