Want to create a new country?🤔

There are many pathways people have used (or will use) to create new nations. These include:

🔹Elections
🔹Revolutions
🔹Wars
🔹Formal secession
🔹Seasteading
🔹Space exploration

However, the downsides of all of these are prominent.

But what about creating a new country virtually? Well, it's more possible than you might think.👀

Online communities came first. Then came financialization, in the form of cryptocurrencies. And now, decentralized finance (DeFi) has allowed communities to tie together their economic fates in the form of tokenized Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).

DAOs allow communities to govern themselves in meaningful ways online, while digital currencies allow them to assemble into miniature economies complete with monetary policy, fiscal policy, and even social programs (DAO grants anyone?).

You might be able to see where this is heading. It won't be long before this "governance" starts spilling into more and more individual members' lives.🚀

Imagine a DAO where all its members decide to aggregate a portion (say, 20%) of everyone's salary into a central account. The members can then vote on how to spend the money – on, say, free healthcare for all members. If the central pile gets big enough, the DAO could buy land and build buildings on it.

The DAO could conceivably buy a lot of lands and apportion it to members to live on. The DAO would now have the leverage to negotiate with other entities (governments, corporations) to gain benefits for its members such as discounts on taxes and products, access to resources, special privileges, and more.

🤩Isn't this starting to sound like... a country?

This is the future we're not so far away from. And Naetion is creating some of the core building blocks to make it happen.

📎By creating a system where individuals can determine (1) what portion of their salary to set aside, and (2) what that money gets spent on, Naetion lays the foundation for completely self-determined governance.

📎By aggregating governance strategies across users, Naetion will increase everyone's leverage and give individuals collective power. We hope to create a world where everyone feels like they have a say in how their life is governed – a world where everyone is more engaged in their community, however that community is distributed. We think that will be a better world.
