The abilities of M**A has no limits 🩷 **A

It literally gave me a life that I never thought I would have. It gives me the tool as a M**A psychedelic assisted therapist to help other women that are suffering with trauma, to get to a beautiful life that they deserve. M**A dose not automatically “fix” you. You have to dig deep, you have to do the work, you have to be ready to surrender your ego and be ready to relearn. In the end the work is worth it!

Founder and Executive Director of MAPS Rick Doblin discusses a new study that supports the psychedelic M**A as treatment for PTSD on 'Kennedy.'

How M**A works in simple terms.
I’m always looking for ways to explain the miracle of this drug especially for treating trauma and ptsd to potential patients and those interested in other options to treat mental health because the “traditional” ways haven’t helped. This is a great podcast, easy to understand and follow.

❤️There is HOPE! Don’t give up‼️

PTSD, CPTSD & PTS are emotional and physical symptoms that arise from trauma(s). The symptoms can be debilitating you feel like you’re stuck in a prison within your body. You do and say things after being triggered and “logically” you can’t understand why. It’s because you’re being hijacked by past traumas. I am a licensed clinical therapist that specializes in working with women with PTSD by utilizing M**A. I myself was cured from a lifetime of CPTSD with the use of M**A. I have had the honor of working with many women that were able to free themselves of the prison PTSD keeps you in. I wanted to share my story and information, that hopefully will give at least one women hope to know there is away out and there is amazing life post PTSD waiting for you. If traditional methods have not worked, you may find hope here ❤️

🪷SET AND SETTING🪷
What is it and why is it important for your healing journey.

Set and setting, when referring to a psychedelic drug experience or the use of other psychoactive substances, means one's mindset (shortened to "set") and the physical and social environment (the "setting") in which the user has the experience. Set and setting are factors that can condition the effects of psychoactive substances: "Set" refers to the mental state a person brings to the experience, like thoughts, mood and expectations; "setting" to the physical and social environment. This is especially relevant for psychedelic experiences in a therapeutic context.

Preparing for your healing journey.
🪷YOUR MIND SET🪷

One of the first things to check in with yourself about while preparing for a psychedelic experience is intention. Ask, why am I wanting to do this journey? M**A unlike other psychedelics is not one that you will experience a “trip”. To learn about M**A and if may be right for you, visit MAPS.org

A common suggestion in psychedelic circles is to create an intention before a psychedelic journey. Sometimes, intention can get confused with expectation. The former is an open aim which could vary from specifics such as “I want to overcome my PTSD” or “how can I get rid of my anxiety as it relates to my trauma”? to something as general as, “I want to see if this experience will help and see what it has to show me.”

An expectation, on the other hand, usually involves some prediction about what will happen, how it will feel, or what the outcome will be. Expectation can lead to feeling disappointed or like you “did it wrong” or the experience “didn’t work.” If you find yourself having those feelings during or after the medicine remember that those are as much a valuable part of your journey as anything else. These negative feelings, projections of failure or being failed may be arising for a reason. Try to stay open and curious about what these thoughts might be tied to from your past. Your therapist will be with you the whole time and assist you in processing those emotions.

If you can, take a day off before and after the medicine session. Going into a journey fresh off of a busy week of work or responsibilities can make things unnecessarily hectic. Try to take some space for yourself to unwind and prepare for an experience that demands curiosity, surrender, trust and humility.

Taking the day off after the medicine day too, will help you to provide yourself the right aftercare so that you can begin the process of integration.

Where your healing journey will physically begin.
🪷THE SETTING🪷

A proper setting is the nuts and bolts of a good psychedelic experience. You will be welcomed to a beautiful private ranch nestled in the north country of San Diego. From your setting you will have views of a lake and mountains. Your setting will have:

🪷Plenty of water to drink to drink.

🪷 A quiet, serene, private, and open physical space to start your journey to go within. You will be fully introduced to your space, oriented, and comfortable before starting the medicine. The journey will start with your prompt, with your comfort first and foremost.

🪷A journal and writing instrument (Writing down your intention in a journal can be helpful if you need to return to it later as an anchor in the experience). A Cell phone can be used for writing notes, and/or recording voice notes. You will be asked to put your phone in airplane mode to help avoid unwanted interruptions.

🪷Eyeshades (for going more inward. M**A causes a dilation of the pupils, so your eyes may feel sensitive to the light. Having eyeshades can also help invite deeper journeying into the visuals and visions.

🪷 A comfortable bed with soft blankets and pillows, as well as weighted blankets if needed/wanted. An array of physical objects that bring many comfort, such as teddy bears, play dough, handheld toys with texture and if requested emotional support therapy, dog(s)

🪷An easily accessible bathroom

🪷Music via comfortable headphones specifically created for M**A psychedelic assisted sessions. The music allows you to go deeper into your subconscious during your session.

🪷Psychedelics can alter one’s ability to communicate, so it’s good to be with people who have experienced it themselves or can understand the ways that you might be affected. Mary Bell has gone through her own healing journey with M**A and is very aware of the physical and mental effects of M**A.

🪷 Your comfort and trust is imperative for a successful, psychedelic assisted journey. If there is anything more that can be provide to make your journey successful, please let Mary know.

🪷Meet Mary🪷

After graduating with a Masters Degree in Social Work and becoming licensed Mary worked in the field of trauma for the last 23 years. Initially she spent several years as a child abuse investigator for the state of Maryland before transitioning into field of mental health. She then spent many years as a cognitive behavioral therapist working with high-risk adolescences. With the majority of her patients having a substantial history of child abuse and trauma. Once moving to San Diego, Mary started in private practice concentrating on women diagnosed or symptomatic with PTSD, CPTSD and PTS. Herself having been diagnosed on three separate occasions with PTSD and despite her own attempts at therapy, Mary lived in its grip for over forty years. Having rationalized “she was who she was” she eventually reached a pivotal point in her life where she could no long deny its negative affect. Fortunately at that time the universe provided her with awareness of a medicine that could help if not cure her of PTSD. It was suggested she research M**A. Subsequently her studies revealed the potential scientific validity of this agent. Leading her to enroll into a FDA approved trial of M**A assisted therapy in the treatment of PTSD conducted by MAPS.org. Following a paradigm of three 8 hour therapy sessions using M**A including subsequent integrative therapy, Mary finished her participation in a three month time span. The end result being nothing short of miraculous as she was cured and was no longer diagnosable of PTSD. Her life had a complete 180° transformation being released from the prison of PTSD. It became clear, her calling was to continue working in the field of trauma and she now had a very powerful tool to help her existing and future patients release themselves from the prison of PTSD. With therapeutic guidance M**A could allow them to capture the amazing gift of life that she had been given.
Mary explains she is paying it forward. Not only has she been given the gift of life free of PTSD. But also the gift of being a therapist assisting women endeavoring in a similar manner. Where they are given a new life, one free of the emotional hijacking of PTSD. She will say “this is not a job, this is not a career, this is a humbling, honorable calling in which I am able to witness beautiful souls freeing themselves from PTSD. When your focus is helping others live their best life it is a gift not a job”

Mary has a unique style of psychedelic assisted therapy. Having endured multiple traumas over the first half of her life there is no client she will not be able to fully relate with. Taking her life experiences, higher education and clinical skills combined with her no nonsense approach she offers a unique psychedelic journey. The end result being a significant reduction in symptoms if not complete remission of PTSD. She will say to perspective new patients “I will not blow smoke and I will I cuss like a sailor. Cuss words are !‘s in my book. I will be the one hugging you when you need a hug telling you it will be ok, I will be the one cheering you on when you need to be cheered. The one telling you the truth when you don’t want to see the truth. I will be the one honored and humbled you have given me your trust, by allowing me to help on your journey to the “other side”. To a life free from PTSD.
