As soon as we get back to Dream in Del Mar, these two restaurants right across the street are a must. One is Mediterranean and the other, Mexican Cantina. Both are amazing and the atmosphere is social. We love eating at both these places. If you have a sleep appointment booked with us, I highly recommend coming down a bit early and trying one or both of these little gems. 😋

Monitoring Technologist works under the general supervision of the Center Manager to provide comprehensive evaluation of sleep disorders, in- center diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies.

Sleep Study Preparation and Set-up:

Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history).

Review the patient history and verify the medical order. Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study.

Set-up/apply electrodes, maintain the following pieces of equipment: nasal thermistors, EOG, EEG, EKG, and EMG (10/20 protocols), surface electrodes, oximetry probes, and inductive plethysmogram. Demonstrate recognition and ability to provide age specific care in the assessment, treatment and education of patients.

Sleep Study Procedures:

Follow procedural protocols [such as Polysomnography, PAP titration, Oxygen titration, Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)] to ensure collection of appropriate data.

Perform appropriate calibrations on device and bio calibrations to ensure proper signals and make necessary required adjustments.

Follow “lights out “procedures to establish and document baseline values.

Perform data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identify, document, and correct artifact. Document routine observations, including sleep states, and clinical events, changes in procedure and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. Implement appropriate interventions with documentation.

Follow “lights on “procedure to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collections process.

Demonstrate adherence to cleaning and disinfections procedures.

Monitor patient safety and adhere to patient safety protocols.

Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation.

Maintain current CPR or BLS certification.

Follow HIPAA and privacy policies.
