From intimate classes to creative pop-ups, we bring people together through movement, connection, and shared experience. We are a San Diego based community committed to creating unique pop-up wellness and yoga classes and events for people to stretch, not only their bodies, but also their minds, ideas, and hearts. Our goal is to provide classes and experiences that expand minds, stretch and move y

our body, and heal and balance the spirit. Sure we offer yoga classes, but our main focus is bringing rad people together to do rad sh*t. Let us introduce you to the newest addition to the Wolf & Lion fam, Em Farley ()

This girl is all smiles, big energy and a calming but powerful presence.

She’s comin’ in hot as a W&L intern, mentoring with , and she’s eager to start teaching. No regular class just yet, but she will be helping out with Quartyard classes (yes, we’re bringing them back!) and be on the lookout for beginner friendly community classes popping up on the schedule with Em.

More about Em:
Em Farley is a San Diego–based yoga instructor and sound healing facilitator. Her offerings integrate vinyasa, breathwork, and crystal bowl sound to create immersive, grounding experiences that support both physical and energetic alignment.

With a focus on accessibility and intention, Em holds space for students to embody, empower, and embrace their practice, on and off the mat.

Beyond her work, Em enjoys traveling the world with her husband, living an active lifestyle through fitness, running, hiking, and brunch outings with her family and friends. She also loves spending time with her two dachshund fur babies.

She’ll be hanging around the studio so make sure to say hi, if she doesn’t beat you to it. Welcome to the fam Em!

Community Spotlight: Student Shout-Out. This week’s feature is Den member, Reese!

Meet Reese, (IG: ). This guy has true pack mentality. He’s always looking out for the WolfPack crew and helping the teacher clean up after class. We’re so grateful he found his way into this community. We asked him a few questions, here’s what he had to say:

WL: What brought you to Wolf & Lion, and what made you stay?
R: Two years ago, Elyssa invited me to her Saturday morning yoga class, and I’ve been attending ever since. Since then, I’ve deepened my understanding of yoga, practiced mindfulness, and become part of an incredible community of people I’m grateful to now call friends.

WL: What’s your favorite thing about the Wolf & Lion community?
R: My favorite thing about the Wolf & Lion community is their continued effort in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all its members and anyone who wishes to be a part of it.

WL: Where is your favorite place to eat n San Diego, what do you order?
R: Since middle school, my favorite place to eat in San Diego has been at Pho Ca Dao on El Cajon Blvd. I always order egg rolls or Spring rolls, and a large bowl of rare steak and brisket pho (P.12).

WL: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting their practice?
R: Yoga is about self development so, be patient with yourself, listen to your body and stay consistent. You’re not alone.

WL: What song instantly puts you in a good mood?
R: God Gave Me Style by 50 Cent

How to start a yoga practice:

1. Have a body. You can go ahead and check that off the list.

2. In the practice of yoga, there is no end game. Always the student. Embrace the beginners mindset. Be open to self discovery at every step of the way.

3. Breathe. Slow down. Take deep, full breaths. As you learn the practice, it will eventually come with more ease. Don’t rush it.

4. This is a big one. You are your best teacher. If something doesn’t feel right, adjust, shift, re-position. Trust that your body will guide you if you are truly listening.

5. Stop being your biggest enemy and start being your biggest fan. Let go of negative self talk. When we pause, breathe, listen, you can start to hear the words that no longer serve you. Let that s**t go.

6. You may have to try a few different classes and instructors to find what feels right for you. You have a your beginners mindset, now go into each class with childlike wonder.

Bonus: having a supportive community to keep reminding you that you matter. We can be that community for you right here at the Den.

We pride ourselves in making sure you don’t get lost in the crowd.

We’re not over here tryin’ to tell you we have the best classes. We do believe we have excellent teachers, who teach phenomenal classes, but we also know there is abundance of great classes to choose from in SD.

What we do have that sets us apart is an incredibly welcoming community, and we want to see you truly thrive in this crazy chaotic beautiful world.

A re-introduction:

Hi 👋, my name is Elyssa and I’m the face behind all things Wolf & Lion.

I’m just one person wearing many hats, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I love providing a space where people can feel seen and heard and not have to “fit in” to any one wellness stereotype.

I’m 45, a Leo, and an advocate for natural beauty, authenticity and human connection.

For you Human Design lovers, I’m a generator 2/4 😉

I’m a mother of one (she’s 7), and my husband is a middle school art and math teacher. We live right here in the same neighborhood as the studio, Normal Heights.

I love all things art, yoga, nature, dancing under a disco ball, flowers, coffee, & brunch. I love brunch, I honestly could eat brunch everyday.

I’ve been practicing yoga since I was 16 and teaching since 2014. I’ve been in the wellness industry long before that as a personal trainer since 2002. That’s almost 30 years of wellness being at the core of my life.

I’m honestly tired of the “performance” vibe that is circling the wellness industry. Can we just take care of ourselves without feeling like we have to fit into one social expectation or another?

That’s why I opened the Den. It’s for people who want access to wellness classes/offerings without the show. Just down-to-earth rad people wanting to be healthy and have the support of a community along the way.

It would bring me so much joy to have you come hang with us at the Den 😍

Community Spotlight: Creator Feature Sarah Stieber ()

Hi, Elyssa here 👋. I first learned about Sarah in 2018 when my husband and I took some photos in front of one of her murals (last slide). Then a couple months later, we attended one of her art shows where we got to experience her cheerful and bright energy in person.

Fast forward to 2021, I was running a rooftop yoga studio on Spin Nightclub when Sarah walked in for class. I reintroduced myself and from that point on, she became one of my biggest supporters.

Sarah has always been in my corner, cheering me on and reminding me why I do what I do. She supports Wolf & Lion by hanging with us at The Den, having us host a yoga class in her pop-up gallery, and always by words of affirmation.

Sarah is one of those people that can instantly put a smile on your face and remind you why color is so important 🌈. Not only can her love for color and the energy it attracts be experienced through her art, but also in her style.

She’s our creator feature this week for our community spotlight because Sarah has saved me from giving up, has reminded me that I’m not alone, and that I can accomplish my dreams. She reminds me that hard work pays off, she’s living proof of it.

Oh yeah, and she’s also an amazing artist, designer and muralist.

Her story is inspiring because she’s created the life of her dreams. She put herself out there, kept showing up for herself and the art she believes in. She found balance in the chaos, and peace in the brush strokes. And now I get to be the friend that points at her murals on walls and can say “my friend did that!” I’m inspired by her everyday.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Meet the Team - Shannon Cury ()

If you’ve had a chance to take our Breathwork & Yin class then you know Shannon is somethin’ special. Shannon has an incredible super power of making you feel right at home, safe, and seen.

We asked Shan a few questions to get to know them better, here’s what they had to say:

WL: Which animal’s medicine do you resonate with and why?
S: Dolphin for sure. The balance of playfulness and power speaks to me.

WL: What was the first thing you wanted to be when you grew up?
S: A journalist. Ironically I now help people shift their relationship with social media but using my voice and seeking justice still hits.

WL: What is something that fills you with purpose?
S: Building a world that we don’t need so much healing from and helping people deconstruct harmful conditioning for personal & collective liberation. There’s nothing wrong with you, babe. There’s a lot wrong with the system. 

WL: What are 3 personal rituals that you do everyday and why? 
S: Morning pages to brain dump and get the demons out before the day starts, meditation or breathwork to center and mental health movement to keep my energy flowing. 
 
WL: What is one quote or piece of positive advice you’d like to share?
S: When my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer he said it made him realize how much his efforts of trying to control his life were useless. My diagnosis hit me with the same truth. Seeking control tends to leads to more suffering. We’re better off letting go and letting life do its thing.
