Memorial Day.
•
We have a Memorial weekend tradition at our house. Work your ass off and go say some names.
•
What does that mean?
•
Well, I fill this weekend up with work. Hard work. Dirty work. Actual work!
•
For me it’s been actual work. New product work. Yard work. Today will include some project work. My boy spent the weekend hired by a neighbor who was replacing their roof. LOTS of hard dirty work there.
•
Today we will say some names. With his work schedule we didn’t go put flags out on gravesites as we have in the past. But we will visit one of our military resting sites, take a walk, read the names out loud and learn a tiny piece of their story.
•
If you have never done this, it’s amazing what someone’s dash can teach you.
•
We’ve done this for a decade. We learned that a soldiers fear isn’t dying for their country, it’s the 2nd death. The one where they are forgotten and nobody speaks their name. We will always do our part to ensure that never happens.
•
And the work hard part? Well, we do that because there are men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us! We honor those no longer here by working hard on our home and business because they no longer can. I’ve taught my boy the value of that vs a bbq.
•
So on this somber weekend of thanks, we remember all of those who have gone on before us, fighting to keep us safe, fighting for our freedoms, fighting to keep us US.
You are not forgotten. You are loved and appreciated.

Do y’all have one of these? I have 7. But this one is the most. She follows me all over, just wanting to be close to her momma. The chickens are too. And one of the cats. The other one goes on tour.

But this one wants to snuggle while she sleeps. Be on the bath mat while I shower. Climb on my lap when I drive.

This freeze dried candy is the perfect example. Here we call it No. 5.

I can’t tell you the name because, they don’t like that sort of thing. But when it’s freeze dried it becomes a light and airy tropical delight!

What’s up Wednesday.

Here is what’s growing in the front yard. There is some other stuff too, but not everything is picture worthy.
•
The mango tree is going off.
Pomegranate is looking great.
Peaches taste amazing.
Tomatoes keep doing their thing.
Basil is blooming.
Lemons are coming.
So many limes have been picked, remember green is NOT ripe.
Mint is always contained.
Berries are of course going wild.
A few blood oranges left.
And the grapes are gorgeous.
•
The back yard…. Well that garden is having more challenges thanks to the savages.
So we will go with the front win right now.

What’s up Wednesday.
•
We did our final day of our 3 day ticket.
•
From age 4-10 we Disney passed. It was awesome. We would change up how we did it. Every other week. 2 weeks on, 1 week off. However it fit. Every 3rd Tuesday. Every 3rd Wednesday. Lots of variety in those years.
•
We would always do an overnight trip in the spring and every birthday we would do a 3 day trip. He was always excited because he got to eat cereal at the hotel breakfast. 🤣
•
During Covid Disney eliminated their pass program and I’ll never forget his words when I told him: they just took the one bright light for so many of us during this mess and killed it.
•
Heartbreaking.
•
They came back with a pass program and priced us out of what would be equitable to what we had.
•
But the past couple of years we took advantage of the so-cal 3 day ticket. We break it up into 3 trips from January through May and we go have the best time.
•
We get to muscle memory the best times of his little kid-dom and it is so much fun.
•
Yesterday we got to ride Soaring Over California. They have it back because they are going to come out with an America version. But after that ride I gave him a big hug! All the flashes of little Kash yelling out “SUNSET SURFERS” and “look, you can almost see our house” on those scenes had me in full kinesthetic mode.
•
Well this post has gotten away from me…
But just take this. Buy the ticket. A Disney 3 day is a good one. Spend time with your littles that are turning big. Have fun. Create more memories on the backs of one’s seared in your soul.

Now I can’t tell you what their actual name is, because those companies don’t like that… I can’t give you a parallel hint. Think happy cowboy, and take each word a degree or two over.
