iley Eye Institute is a full service facility that offers basic eye exams from experienced optometrists, the ability to purchase contact lenses and glasses on site, the most advanced diagnostic testing equipment, a sophisticated out patient surgery center, world renowned faculty ophthalmologists and well trained staff - all at one convenient location. The 91,000 square foot Shiley Eye Institute complex consists of the main Shiley facility with the new wing, the Anne F. and Abraham Ratner Children’s Eye Center, the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Retina Center and the Hamilton Glaucoma Center. The Department of Ophthalmology also serves the UCSD Hillcrest Medical Center, the Veterans Hospital on the UCSD campus and the traveling EyeMobile for Children.
