the recipe is simple
dream big
and when you think
the dream is big enough
triple it in size
once you’ve visualized
the weight of what your capable of
stretch it past the horizon of your mind
until you see into the future
sink into what’s possible
then come back and
get to work

It is always an honor to work with the families that I have the privilege to support, but even more so when it is a ripple of the the previous families that I have worked with. I am so proud of you and miss seeing all of your children- but such a sweetness to see then shine from afar

I’m often asked when and if I will have another baby, and the truth is that it’s very unlikely. Pregnancy was actually such a joy and even though it wasn’t always easy- it went smoothly and after a 6 hour labor, I consider myself blessed to have been healthy and nourished throughout postpartum too. Motherhood has healed parts of me that needed tenderness and steadfast commitment to even the smallest moments. I became a mother at 20 years old and made an agreement to myself that if the only purposeful thing I do in this lifetime is care for my semillita, I would. I am so proud of who she is and who she is becoming. Happy Mother’s Day 🏵️🌊🐚🕊️🪶

I’ve had this book reading on my to-do list for longer than I’d like to admit and it is such a sweet one. Thank you so much for sending me your book- it’s perfect. ❣️

I will be reflecting on last night’s film screening of The Long Labor for awhile, and I wanted to create space for this particular moment because although I am the Secretary of the board and I’m on several committees, I’m also the unofficial gift giver and I absolutely love this task. I’ve been told that I’m a particularly skilled gift giver and it brings me so much joy for to give gifts that help my people feel seen and appreciated. If I’ve ever given you a gift, please know that it comes from a place of abundance and love.

Midwifery is often romanticized- in an effort for this space to be more humanized, it’s fun for me to share who I am beyond supporting families- a forever student to land based practices that allow me to expand and process. I learned hand building in high school and have taken pottery classes here and there, but last year I took a 6- week intro to wheel throwing class and am now a member at , practicing as much as I can in an effort to cultivate skill beyond what the occasional class offered. So here are a few of the pieces that have survived the most recent kiln firing. You can see that some of them have cracks and I can see how the pieces gradually became better as I worked. I threw all of these on the same day, and rushed the glazing but I’m proud of these lil babies and what the time in the studio has offered me.

윤슬 Yoonseul

The rippling, shimmering light reflected on the surface of water, when it’s caused by sunlight or moonlight. It captures the fleeting beauty of light dancing on waves.

Instead of a poem, this time it’s just a word- to honor the bond between light and water, mother and daughter. It is this sweet girl’s birthday and reflecting on this birth reminds me of how much is possible when we expand our hearts, as parents. I have attended many births of families with more than one child, but to see how their love abundantly graces each of the children, is just as beautiful as moonlight on the ocean.

Magia De Mujer

‘La magia de su vientre
Que contiene importantes ingredientes
Nuestros géneros antecedentes
entran los militantes hacia el frente
creación de una ternura milagrosa
oof que cosa
dar luz igual que el amanecer
solecito del día
luna del mes, mapache de noche’

This photo is a snapshot of the bond of sisterhood. ✨
Uñas de and .omee - in active labor over the birthing waters. I met Neomi in the nail salon and if you’ve ever sat in her chair, you know her radiance far extends beyond her job title. She’s held so many with her hands + consejos ✨ you may leave with her art but you also with a fresh perspective. There was a time when .luna.love and I both had the same nail set from her and that memory feels so tender now. It was an honor to be her a Midwife and see her precious family grow. May we all be held and hold each other with grace.

sent me this postpartum nervous system elixir to try, after I asked for an option to add to my client gift bags. Let me tell you- it is amazing. Rose, hibiscus, and Motherwort are some of my favorites and these allies have been helping me navigate the pre-teen dysteregulating in my home. Can’t wait to offer this support for my postpartum families 💕

One thing I have embraced is being soft to the changes of parenthood. I let it change me, even when it’s scary. Humbling myself to the perspective of my 11 year old and letting her show me the way -sometimes, has revolutionized how we walk into these pre-teen years. I’ve always been too scared to hurt myself but hey, I didn’t fall today. Grateful my sister took these photos of us 💕

Reflecting on all of the families I had the honor to work with this year and all of the experiences that broadened my perspective, as a Midwife. Looking back at 71 births in 2025, and so many more families that I supported prenatally, postpartum, and in growing their families with IUI/preconception.

Processing Cedar this morning was the perfect meditative task for this reflection as well as preparing prayers for 2026, which will be a lighter year for births. I’m staying open to the abundance and what this new Gregorian calendar year will bring, not only in my Midwifery practice but for growth in all directions.
