Sarah Greco: Therapist, Teacher, & Clinical Supervisor

Sarah Greco: Therapist, Teacher, & Clinical Supervisor Sarah Greco is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California, #82932. I believe your story deserves to be heard and validated.

I am Sarah Greco, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California, #82932. It is my calling to help encourage people to value their personal story. This is done by recognizing their strengths and using them for healing, recovery, finding balance, and discovering their worth. I can help you become more self-aware and to find the power to heal by helping to guide your journey. I

know it takes a lot of energy and time to invest in yourself by seeking therapy, and I encourage you to recognize that YOU ARE WORTH IT. Sometimes, it takes all the energy you have just to show up, but that will be your victory. Bottom line: You are worthy. I am passionate about my faith and about helping those who desire healing in their relationship with God, themselves and others. I create a safe space for all of my clients, regardless of where they are in their faith journey or their belief system. It is with enthusiasm that I regularly provide on-site local classes and workshops on topics such as: The Value of Self Care in the Work Place, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Recovery and Treatment Planning, Stages of Change, Effective Boundary Setting, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, & Su***de Assessment and Prevention. Joy and healing can come from being around a loving animal. This is why I bring my 4 lb. Yorkie, Brutie, into the therapy room with us. He loves everybody and has the power to make humans smile. He is happy to be held, pet or to sit quietly on the couch. On a personal note:
I grew up outside of Boston and made my way across the country over 20 years ago. When I am not working, you will find me cooking nutritious foods for my family, tossing a ball with Brutie at the park, attending yoga classes, participating in church activities, spending quality time with friends, and happily exploring all the hidden treasures that Southern CA so generously offers. Experience:
My experience and training include EMDR, trauma-informed care, play therapy, co-occurring disorders, motivational interviewing, family systems therapy, solution-focused therapy, and holistic health methodologies. Prior to becoming a therapist, I managed a program serving severely mentally ill, homeless adults. I was privileged to support this routinely under-served population here in San Diego, giving me a renewed perspective of the value and worth of every human life. I have also had the blessing of serving and supporting victims of domestic violence, developmentally disabled adults, children with open CPS (Child Protective Services) cases, and Veterans with co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance abuse). Memberships and affiliations:
I am an active member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists). About Therapy
Because each person has different goals for therapy, it will be different depending on the individual. In general, you can expect to discuss the current events happening in your life, your personal history, and reflect on the progress or insights gained from the previous therapy session. Depending on your specific needs, therapy can be short-term to address a specific issue, or longer-term to focus on more difficult patterns or your desire for more personal development. Either way, it is most common to schedule regular sessions with me (usually weekly). It is important to understand that you will see more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process. This can be difficult, but it's important not to give up when uncomfortable feelings arise, as it's a normal part of the therapy process. The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you grow emotionally and spiritually and apply what you learn to your everyday life. Therefore, beyond the work you do in therapy sessions, I may suggest some things you can do outside of therapy to support your process - such as reading a pertinent book, journaling on specific topics, noting particular behaviors, or taking action on your goals. People seeking therapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspectives, and take more responsibility for their lives,

Stop expecting your children to jump when you say jump 🦘

They’re not soldiers 💥
They’re not your employees 💪
They’re not here to cater to your ego or meet your need for control😢

They’re people ❤️
With thoughts 💭
With feelings ❣️
With autonomy ☀️

You don’t earn respect by demanding obedience.
You earn it by being respectful first.

Want a child who listens?
Try listening to them.
Want a child who trusts you?
Stop making them fear you.

Authority doesn’t make you right.
It just makes you louder.
And sometimes the loudest voice is the one your child learns to silence their own for.
