The FIRST step towards a diet-free, sustainable lifestyle is to give yourself unconditional permission to eat💗

So YES it is okay to eat a bagel sandwich on a random week day when you feel like it!

Bagels don’t need to be off limits because they are “bad” or reserved as hangover cures or for “cheat days” and sandwiches don’t need to be between bell peppers or a lettuce wrap because it’s “healthier” …

It’s the over-restriction & many food rules that are making you feel MORE out of control with food, giving you wild cravings, and causing you to over eat.

^^ so we have to let those go!!

In the BABB Academy I teach clients how to trust their bodies to tell them how much & what to eat, which will help you stop over & under fueling yourself!

I help clients get in tune with their body’s cues & teach how to respond with care, love & respect. No food is off limits!

It’s because we always want what we can’t have. What we restrict, we fixate on. And when we finally get access to it, we usually OVER-indulge on it because we don’t know when we’ll allow ourselves to have it again😔

So the 🔑 is to make that food available to you, have it around!! And give yourself permission to eat it whenever and eventually, you won’t over-eat or binge on it.

This takes time!!⏰ Give yourself grace and be patient with yourself.

My reaction when people think this is the ONLY way to lose weight…🤯⁣

I’m here to tell y’all there IS another way!!! And that it IS possible to reach your health goals without cutting out the foods you love!⁣😭🙌

We always want what we can’t have. So when we restrict ourselves from enjoying the foods we love (🍕🍫🍪) we can only hold out for so long…⁣

Then most people end up OVER-induling because they don’t know when they’ll let themselves have that food again.⁣
⁣.. which makes people feel guilty & shameful over what they ate & how much⁣

… which just leads them to restricting and cutting out foods they love again😩🔂⁣

It’s a REALLY hard cycle y’all. And it’s one that I work with clients on breaking!⁣

Because there IS another way to lose weight (and this way actually helps you keep it off😉)⁣

👉I help clients learn how to enjoy the foods they love, without restricting or over-doing it. And without feeling like they’re “cheating” on themselves!⁣

👉I teach my clients how to choose their favorite foods with intention, rather than being led by cravings, emotions, or social pressures.⁣

LEMME EXPLAIN!👇 Bc Carbs aren’t the enemy, we don’t need to cut them!!⁣

We just need to be smart + strategic about WHICH carbs we choose to consume & when!⁣

🍓SIMPLE SUGARS are our fast-absorbing carbs (i.e. fruit)! We want to have these especially PRE workout to get quick & available energy!⁣

🍠COMPLEX CARBS are our longer-acting carbs (i.e. sweet potatoes, quinoa, whole grain toast). Perf for POST workout when we need to fuel the muscle repair process (muscle protein synthesis) over time!⁣

🤔How many carbs should you eat a day?

Depends on the person, their goals & any existing conditions they have! But a good general rule of thumb for MOST people is that 45-50% of our daily calories should be from carb sources!⁣

❌This isn’t a permission slip to only eat cake, ice cream & In N Out (or McDonald’s bc it’s better 🤪) all day!⁣

✅Fruit & Veggies are carbs too! So we want to have a balance!⁣

💗We customize all of our nutrition support for clients & help them be smart with their carbs (and still enjoy the foods they love!!🙌 )

TIPS FOR CONSISTENCY W/ EXERCISE!⤵️⁣

1️⃣ MAKE IT A NO-BRAINER!⁣

👉We feel better after working out ( 🤪) but it’s the act of getting started that is the biggest hurdle!! So make it EASY for yourself! Lay out your clothes, pick out your workout & make the plan the DAY BEFORE!⁣

2️⃣ MAKE IT A PRIORITY!⁣

👉 Instead of saying “Ugh I don’t have time to exercise” try saying “I’m not making exercise a priority today!” If you feel that guilty knot in your stomach😬 then YOU KNOW deep down you just need to make it more of a priority in your day!⁣

👉Schedule it like an APPOINTMENT! Pro tip: Try getting it done in the AM, before your day gets more cray!⁣

3️⃣ MAKE IT FUN!⁣

👉Make the workout fun by picking a great playlist, an outfit that makes you feel cute & strong, and moves you enjoy! Sometimes I even put a lil makeup on bc it makes me feel like a QUEEN & keeps me consistent! ⁣

Unpopular opinion {don’t hate me🙈} 👉 Not every coach SHOULD be a health & fitness coach⁣

I talk to people everyday who inquire about my coaching programs who are SUPER skeptical because they’ve been burned by other programs & coaches in the past…⁣

They’ve tried to reach their goals but weren’t able to sustain their results (or worse… got NO results at all)!⁣

{SWIPE📲} to see clients from LAST YEAR who have MAINTAINED their results!⁣

This makes people really scared to invest in coaching again even though our programs are designed differently & with sustainability of results in mind.⁣

Not every coach who has gone through their own health transformation is equipped to teach someone else how to do it.⁣

These coaches can NOT assume that what worked for them will work for all⚠️

We all have different bodies & goals, so we need personalized plans to get us there!⁣🤍🤎🖤

If there was one diet out there that worked for us all, wouldn’t we know what that is by now?? ⁣

And unfortunately, this is just the truth, most health coaches online are not even credentialed & ignore the science but have a social media presence so people trust them and then get no results… This gives the industry a bad rep & it does clients a LARGE disservice.⁣

💡👉Y’all this is exactly why I decided to go back to school to get my Masters in Nutrition & Exercise Physiology so I could learn how to get clients the best results in line with the latest research.

We are consistently up-leveling our programs & the plans we give our clients. And ALL of our programs are developed with sustainability of results in mind.⁣

Why Beachbody didn’t work for me long term...⁣

Y’all not to call myself out because I used to coach for Beachbody (for YEARS🙈)… BUT this is straight ⁣

In order to heal our relationship with food, improve our body image & sustain healthy habits when it’s inconvenient or we’re unmotivated👉 we need to work through our excuses, limiting beliefs & self-sabotaging behaviors.⁣

^^And that’s done through coaching someone through MINDSET SHIFTS💡 And Beachbody doesn’t have an avenue to provide that level of support to all their subscribers.⁣

(and their meal plans typically put people at too much of a caloric deficit & a lot of their programs consist of straight HIIT workouts, which turns on muscle wasting + fat storage for women in the second half of their menstrual cycle… skert😬🙃)⁣

Yes — $99 for the year seems AMAZING but if it doesn’t get you to your goal it’s $99 too much & not worth it.⁣

Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way…⁣

The Path to True Confidence and Making Health a Lifestyle

I created the Be About Being Better Academy because I am passionate about helping women find true confidence and establish healthy habits that can be sustained over the longterm.

I am passionate about living a life full of healthy habits, productivity, and overall abundance. I have been a dancer, trained in classical ballet for 14 years. When I changed career paths and fostered my love of science, I took a break from dance. It seemed that just when I thought I was starting to find my true calling and career path, I ended up losing touch with myself and neglecting what I was passionate about: exercise and healthy living.

When I stopped exercising, it became a low point in my life. Not only was I feeling insecure about my body, I was feeling drained, unmotivated, irritable, and my grades started to suffer. I didn't feel like myself. I knew I needed a change.

Going to the gym was not enough. I did not feel comfortable in my workout clothes, did not know what routine to do or what machines to use, and felt like everyone was staring at me. Going to the gym without any guidance left me feeling more stressed and more insecure, perpetuating all the negative feelings I was already experiencing about myself. I was desperate to feel comfortable in my own skin again.
