Dr. Pallesen is a licensed clinical psychologist in California. He received his masters and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association. He has been trained in several short-term and long-term therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, emotion-focused, family systems, and others. Dr. Pallsen has worked in various settings providing assessments and treatment, including an elementary school, a residential home for troubled adolescents, a day treatment center for children and adolescents, a university counseling center, several correctional facilities, a primary healthcare clinic, and private practice. A lesson in cognitive biases as demonstrated by my bracket:

1) Gambler’s Fallacy - Past results impact the probability of success in the present. Because Gonzaga has never won it all before, I don’t have them in the Final Four.

2) Availability Heuristic - If it’s easy to recall, we over estimate it’s likelihood of occurrence. Kentucky, Duke, and Kansas are in my Final Four because I can remember times when these programs have had success.

3) Overconfidence - This is my year!

4) Home Bias - Arizona will win the 🏆!! Oh by the way, I live in Arizona.

It’s Tax Season!

Does anyone else get excited to file taxes? And I’m not talking about the expectation of receiving a large refund (because if you get one, you are just getting your own money back). But I find satisfaction in completing the task.

I’m a list-guy. I live and die by spreadsheets and to-do lists. And filing your taxes is like completing a year-long task on that to-do list.

He is a licensed clinical psychologist whose focus is in the field of Positive Psychology, which is the science of happiness and fulfillment. Dr. Dan’s approach with people is to focus on strengths and bring clarity to the issues of purpose and meaning in their lives. He has worked for over 10 years in many settings including counseling centers, private practice, military clinics, and even federal prisons.

As the Chief of Investor Behavior, Dr. Dan works with the clients of Keystone Wealth Partners to enhance their communication with their advisor, their spouses, and others. He also helps clients set and pursue goals in retirement and understand how behavioral biases may impact investment decisions and other actions. And to help Keystone advisors offer the best individualized recommendations for their clients, Dr. Dan works directly with the members of the Keystone Team to understand the unique needs and desires of their clients.

Dr. Dan grew up in the Midwest but warmer weather won out when the time came for college and he moved to Southern California to attend Biola University, where he completed his undergrad and graduate degrees.
