Headaches
I was listening to NPR ( National Public Radio) ...a discussion of headaches and the new diagnostic tools that are being used.
It was reported that twice as many tests are being done on patients with headaches. These tests can include MRI, CT scans and more. The actual number of patients with headaches has remained the same.
I listened to an interview with a woman who was unable to function as a result of headaches that started in the morning and progressed throughout the day without relief,in spite of medication and treatments. She had been examined and reexamined for years with all the latest testing procedures without any information that had made any difference to her condition. She sought help from one more MD and went through another round of testing.
Her new doctor suggested that she changed her diet, had her stop sodas and sugar and change from a high carbohydrate diet to one of low grains, meat, and plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit. She began drinking lots of water. The doctor suggested mindfullness training or meditation, gentle yoga and very mild exercise. The patient followed through.
Guess what??? For the first time in years this woman can hold job. Her headaches are mild and she can function.
As I listened I thought…...Hey...I do that in my practice. I should remind people of this.
Do you or someone you know suffer with headaches? There is help. Most of the time patients need guidance and support through changes. This can include a directed, gentle detox program, proper nutritional supplements, good laboratory analysis and chiropractic care. It is essential to have someone to properly diagnose, treat, and monitor progress.
That is me!
I am happy to help.
