We were *almost* to the perfect spot of golden grass. The light was sparkling perfectly through the trees on the other side of the field. I had my long lens ready, and I knew the second we got there, the sun was going to turn all ooey-gooey and magical around our supermodel pup.

We were a few steps away when...

…she plopped down and wiggled her whole body through a pile of dry, stickery plants beside the trail.

Her person shrieked, I held my breath, but the pup looked soooo proud of herself, how could we possibly be mad?

I always say: expect the unexpected. This work isn’t just about taking beautiful photos — it’s about rolling with the chaos and finding the joy in it.

So, what did we do? The only thing we could do: we laughed, took a few shots to commemorate the moment, brushed her off, and kept going...

Sweet, strong, and brave boy, Henry. Meeting him and his mom was one of my favorite parts of our trip to Montana two years ago — and this particular morning was nothing short of magic: the blue sky reflecting in the water, Henry posing like the regal Lab he is, and the warm sunshine sparkling down on us.

Henry is currently battling bone cancer and recently had his leg amputated. He is so loved by his whole family. Send some good thoughts his way. 💙

For me?

→ Saying yes to as many sessions as possible (hello, burnout city)

→ Offering every product under the sun instead of curating a few that my clients and I truly *LOVE* (all this did was fuel confusion and indecision)

→ Being super formal all the time (there's now a rule here of absolutely zero corporate-speak)

Turns out, when I decided to really focus on serving my clients and giving them the absolute best experience, everything else fell into place. I learned I’m not the right photographer for everyone — and that’s OK. I’m the photographer for clients who want a personalized approach and someone who will always go above and beyond for them.

When a human and a dog meet for the first time and it feels like they’ve always belonged to each other… that’s the ✨magic✨ I live for on commercial shoots.

Our pup model, Arlo (), and our human model, Angel (), had never met before this Cargill shoot, but the moment they stepped onto that sunlit ranch porch, you’d swear they’d known each other forever. A sweet lean in, a content blink from Arlo, and Angel's head resting so gently on his new doggie friend that it almost makes your heart ache.

They didn’t just pose — they connected. They trusted each other, and my client trusted me to catch the moment when it turned into something real.

A rockstar human, an incredible dog, the golden country sun, and a feeling that stays with you long after the last shutter click. That’s what I’m here to create.

If pure joy had four paws and a fluffy tail, her name would be Jemma. ✨

Running wild through Flagstaff’s golden grasses with the mountains watching over, she owned every moment of our shoot with Earth Animal. This little mini Aussie brought ALL the big energy. Fast paws, bright eyes, perfect sits — Jemma, you’re everything we love about happy dogs and wide open spaces. ❤️

Loona didn’t need words to know how loved she was… just a hand on her fur, the warmth of the golden sun, and the gentle knowing that her dad would be right there — always.

End-of-life sessions are some of the hardest yet most meaningful stories I’m trusted to tell. It’s never just about saying goodbye, it’s about celebrating every ounce of love, every adventure, and every moment that made them a family.

It’s an honor to capture memories like this one.

I’ve photographed dogs who zoom, leap, bark, sniff, ignore, dig, drool, fall asleep, are blind, deaf, and occasionally think *they* are the photographer and would prefer to stay behind the lens.

And guess what? Those sessions are often the most fun — and the photos? Pure magic.

You don’t need a perfectly trained pup. You just need a team who knows how to meet dogs where they are and work with what they give us. (Hi, that’s Team Westway! 👋)

Sweet Lulu is a one-eyed rescue pibble with a heart full of love and a smile that lights up everything around her. 💛 We photographed her and her mom at the beach in the ooeyest-gooiest golden light, and it was pure magic.

Lulu is a total goofball with boundless energy, the best smile, and a deep love for her mom. Their session was full of laughter, joyful energy, and plenty of sandy paws. 🐾☀️

This quiet moment between them unfolded so naturally — a little slice of everyday love that says everything without needing a single word. These are the moments I treasure most.

I truly respect all the ways people welcome dogs into their lives, but adoption will always hold my heart. Giving a second chance to a dog who’s a little different — like seniors, wheelchair users, or pups like Lulu with one eye — can bring so much unexpected joy, connection, and personality into your life. There’s something really special about watching them shine. 💕
