Trent has been diagnosed with a rare, fast-growing stage IV brain cancer called Atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (ATRT).

It's been quite a climb to get to this point, but it seems to have paid off. Trent has more life to enjoy postcancer! His MRI showed no new tumor growth! We are so grateful. Thank you for your continued prayers as we move forward in tackling some new, somewhat scary neurological symptoms--which made this wonderful news feel that much sweeter. He's obviously unstoppable, so we're confident he'll overcome whatever his EEG results reveal with just as much courage and grace as he's shown throughout every other seemingly impossible challenge.

We made an amazing discovery before Trent's MRI of the brain and spine: the Subway at Randy's now sells churros! Praying now for a second positive discovery tonight--please let us see clear scans once again.

Trent is now a thriving 7th grader! I’m so impressed with his positive outlook as we begin the school year—he’s always loved learning, but this year he seems especially thrilled to be back. He was just shy of earning straight A’s last year—a huge accomplishment and testament to his strength of will, especially considering his lengthy absence from school during those foundational skill-building grades. He’s caught up with his peers and is dedicated to his goal of earning all A’s this semester! We were invited to watch and learn on set as some of Mom’s OCSA film students filmed their final senior project. We were so impressed by their professionalism and focus on their creative purpose, and the hospitality and warmth they showed to their visitors. Trent was a giddy sponge the whole time, while Mom was soaking in every moment with a sense of pride I her Seniors and a glowing optimism for whatever the future may have in store for Trent. Thank you for allowing us to be there! Can’t wait to see it on the big screen.

Hey ATRT, remember when you put me through all that hard stuff, but I maintained my thumb-up perspective while fighting for my chance to live? Well I’m still smiling and living… and I’m not at all sorry that you didn’t seem to want to stick around to see it. Another clear scan, another tomorrow!!!

This kid never ceases to amaze me. I don’t know if I’d have the patience, focus, and perseverance to complete a complicated set like this using only one hand. Wow.
