🌱 Meet Josie Duraso 🌱

We are so excited to welcome Josie to the board, where she will be serving as Inclusivity Director. Our goal is to make sure these holistic practices are accessible to all. 🙏

Josie Duraso (she/her) is a q***r mystic, somatic therapist, and yoga teacher. She is earthy, soulful, and passionate about bringing people together to celebrate the magic of embodiment. Her teachings, rooted in eco feminism and eco spirituality, help people lovingly find freedom and home within their bodies and the natural world. With close to ten years of teaching experience, Josie has taught at festivals, conferences, and universities, led retreats, and assisted and led numerous yoga teacher trainings.

Sometimes healing looks like saying YES to one moment of support at a time.

Our client arrived feeling out of alignment, weighed down, and disconnected from his Self. By the end of a 90-minute session, he left with clarity, renewed energy, and a sense of connection he hadn’t felt in a long time. 🧘‍♀️

So many of those in recovery are craving connection, not just with others, but with themselves. That’s why Soma’s mission is bringing holistic healing directly into sober livings, rehabilitation centers, and clinics.

Through mindfulness, movement, sound, and breathwork, we create spaces where people can slow down, feel safe in their bodies, and reconnect with their inner calm.

Healing doesn’t have to feel clinical. Sometimes it just takes presence, compassion, and a space to breathe. 🌸

Oh how we’ve grown 🥹 this is the WHY behind why we do what we do 🤍 our most important goal with soma is build a community and safe space where all can feel welcome, appreciated, and valued.

this year we served the north county/san diego county area with support groups once a month, a virtual group every week, and events throughout the year where people can meet likeminded individuals, enjoy music, self expression, holistic modalities without the pressures of alcohol.

Here’s a list of our impact:
🌟monthly support group
🌟weekly virtual support group
🌟served a local school administration with self care
🌟house of soma: 2-day music, wellness, and arts festival
🌟soma sounds: local live music/conscious gatherings
🌟offered services to local rehabs and sober livings
🌟supported local artists by hosting live music events
🌟supported local facilitators within the community

we are so proud and can’t wait to see how this continues to grow! thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way!

As healers, at times we can neglect our own needs spiritually in pursuit of helping others. It’s important to check in regularly and ask if we’re regularly filling up our cup. If the answer is no, taking the time and space necessary is the best step you can take for yourself and others. 🌼✨🔮🧚🏽‍♀️
