Supporting our kids to have more control over their ability to do all the things they need to do and want to do, within the timeframe expected, is important to continue to build their confidence both inside and outside of the classroom.

Thank you! I feel so grateful to be recognized! 🫶

From the moment I learned about the Secret Agent Society (SAS) Small Group Program I thought that it was such a wonderful way to be able to partner with families to support their children’s social-emotional development.

I wanted to be able to provide this unique evidence-based program to the families I care for. Signing up for the SAS Facilitator training was one of the first things I did when I started my Development Behavioral Pediatrics private practice, and I am so glad that I did!

The program has a fun spy theme with a gamified learning component, and features lots of tools to help the kids to generalize the skills they are learning across environments.

It has been so rewarding to watch as the kids build their confidence with using the skills they learn as they progress through the program such as:
- Recognizing emotions in themselves and others.
- Using the tools they have learned to improve their emotional regulating skills.
- Learning to distinguish different types of relationships (acquaintances to best friends), and skills to make & keep friends (when desired).
- Using social problem solving skills to manage conflicts, differentiate joking from bullying, and how to handle bullies.

I would love to contact with you if you or someone you know is interested in joining me virtually or in person for one of my SAS Small Groups!

We're celebrating the first anniversary as a Secret Agent Society (SAS) Provider for Samantha Cohen, MD, Inc. As a Developmental Behavioural Pediatrician in private practice, the mother of an amazing boy with ASD and ADHD, and a person with a neurodivergent brain style, we are proud to have her as an SAS Facilitator.

She loves providing SAS in-person and virtually for families looking for a neurodiversity-affirming, fun, and effective way to develop social and emotional confidence.

Get in touch with Dr. Cohen or another SAS Provider in our global network via the link below if you would like to embark on the program with your child!

🥳 I want to congratulate all of my Jr. & Sr. Detectives on completing our 8th and final TEACH ME ADHD training mission meeting!

🔎 Our final discussion topic focused on an important aspect of self-care: managing screen time.

⚖️ We reflected on the reason we use screens, how they can affect our mood, and how to find Balance between the things we Need To Do (📚, 📋,🥗, 😴,🏃‍♀️& 🧘‍♂️) vs Want To Do (📺📱💻🎮) as part of our overall ADHD care plan.

🧐We also did some trivia questions to help with reviewing the information we learned over of the past 8 weeks, and it was awesome 🤩 to see how much my detectives have learned about ADHD!

🕵️‍♀️ My Jr. Detectives shared that they would describe this course as: “Amazing”, “Conveys a lot of information”, and “Informative”. They said that they enjoyed learning all about ADHD, including ways to help ADHD brains thrive, and that ADHD “makes me special”.

🌟It has been wonderful to see how learning about ADHD has helped my Jr. Detectives to think of themselves and their ADHD brains with a positive outlook. Myself and everyone at HQ are so proud of each and every one of our amazing Detectives! 🕵️

🫶 I am grateful to all of the families that participated for allowing me to be a part of their ADHD journey, and I am happy to report to HQ that we accomplished our mission! ✅

✨This past Sunday my detectives and I completed training mission 7, which was all about shifting from negative to positive ways of thinking, which is such a timely and important topic!

🔎 We revisited the concept of “ANTs” 🐜 - those troublesome “Automatic Negative Thoughts” that we all experience, and took a deeper dive into what we can do to send them away.

🛡️With the foundation from the skills we learned earlier in the course, my detectives were ready to learn more advanced coping strategies for dealing with ANTS 🐜.

🧰 Jr and Sr Detectives learned tools that they can use as a team to help with breaking free from negative thoughts that keep us stuck.

📻By tuning into the positive, leaning into gratitude, 📈 having a growth mindset, and 🕵️‍♀️using our detective skills we learned that we have the power to control our thoughts and that we CAN do hard things!

🌠During our meeting the detectives practiced thinking about which tools could help in various situations because the more we practice thinking positively the stronger 💪🏻 those patterns of thinking become in our brains 🧠!

🗓️Our 8th and final training mission is next week. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing about their final family & 🤫 top secret missions during our last class. I am also excited to 🥳 celebrate all of their achievements since joining the All Deeds Help Detective Agency back in September. Keep up the great work detectives!

Yesterday, during training mission 6, my detectives and I talked about the 4 key components of an ADHD Care Plan: Self-Care Strategies, School Supports, Behavior Therapy/Coaching, and Medication options.

We reviewed the importance of the topics related to self-care that we already covered earlier in the course including eating healthy foods 🥗, getting enough sleep 😴, engaging in daily exercise 🤾‍♀️and, using organizational strategies to help with school all of which help to optimize our brain’s functioning 🧠.

💊We discussed that meditations for ADHD can be an additional tool to help with improving control over attention, activity level and impulsivity work and how to work with doctors to decide if/when it would be appropriate to start a meditation.

🔎We talked about the importance of noticing and keeping track of the positive and/or any negative affects of a meditations and sharing that information with doctors so that they can find the right medication and dose that is helpful without significant unwanted effects.

🕵️‍♀️ My Jr Detectives were engaged, shared their experiences, and asked a lot of great questions. It was a wonderful discussion!

👏 I am very proud of my Jr Detectives, who through participating in TEACH ME ADHD have been engaging in creating and becoming active participants in their care plans!

🗓️Wow time flies! I cannot believe we are almost done with this session of TEACH Me ADHD! Only 2 more training missions left! Keep up the great work on your family missions and deeds! I am excited to see everyones evidence! 👀
