Did you know I encapsulate placentas now? I personally started encapsulating because of the benefits I noticed when I took my placenta pills with my second daughter. In this picture I’m prepping the placenta to make a print of it on water color paper that all my clients get as complimentary ✨

Thankful for my husband who supports this passion of mine. Doula work wouldn’t be possible without him. This isn’t easy work, being on call for like ever? Not being able to schedule vacations or outings easily. Not knowing when I leave for a birth if I’m going to be gone for a few hours or a few days. But you never complain and Always encourage me to do more. I love you✨ 📸:

Well covid ruined my last birth for 2021. Since I welcomed my own baby this year I was only able to do 3 births this year. As always it’s such an honor to witness so much strength and also see so many cute babies 🥺💕

Three years ago, my daughter Coraline was born. This is the birth that changed me and changed my path. Most the interventions I didn’t want to happen happened that day and I was left feeling like maybe I couldn’t have a baby the way I wanted. My second daughters birth showed me that I could. The birth at the hospital taught me that I wanted to help other birthing people not go through what I did, to educate, and to help people make informed decisions that are best for themselves. Im thankful this birth led me on the path that I am on today.

I’m so thankful to have gotten to normalize birth for my sweet Coraline. She gets to grow up seeing how strong her mom and birthing people are for giving birth. She gets to grow up knowing that it doesn’t always have to be scary. I’m excited for the generation that gets to know and see birth as being normal. And to think my sweet girl is turning 3 already on Monday 🥺 during eleanores birth she was never scared, even though I was definitely yelling. We prepped her for so long before showing her homebirth videos and taking her to all our prenatal appointments. She even wanted to touch the placenta, she asked the midwife for gloves first😂 📸:

This sweet babe was calmly caught surrounded by low lights and gentle smiles. She stayed snuggled up and breastfeeding undisturbed for quite some time as those in the room quietly talked and admired her. When everyone was ready her newborn exam was performed on the same bed she was born in- gently, without hurry or urgency, and without breaking the peaceful bliss that had filled the room since the first entered it.

That's the difference home birth makes.

This birth was attended by Modern Midwives. I simply cannot recommend them enough.

As it is nearing my time to re-certify, I have chosen to not re-certify with DONA and instead I am certifying with Stillbirthday as a birth & bereavement doula. I am very excited for this next chapter ✨
