Got eczema? Yeah, me too! Chances are, if you go to the dermatologist you will leave with no answers and a steroid cream. I like to avoid those as much as possible as they focus on suppressing symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of skin issues! 😖

While steroid creams can quickly reduce redness, itching, and inflammation, long-term use can often make the problem worse. One concern is skin barrier damage as prolonged use of topical steroids can thin the skin, making it more fragile and sensitive.🥹
Another risk is rebound flares where your eczema symptoms return more aggressively once you stop using the cream, sometimes creating a dependency cycle. 🔁
Additionally, steroids can be absorbed into the bloodstream, especially when used over large areas or for extended periods, potentially affecting hormone balance, immune response, and adrenal function. 😑
From a holistic perspective, eczema is usually as a sign of deeper imbalances, such as inflammation, gut health issues, food sensitivities, or environmental triggers. 🍞
Instead of masking symptoms, a holistic approach focuses on naturally supporting the body’s healing process, restoring the skin’s barrier, nourishing the microbiome, reducing internal inflammation, and avoiding common irritants!⚠️
