Wambi amplifies all the caring and human connection between care providers and their patients.
Wambi was invented because a healthcare administrator, who grew up with chronically ill parents, wanted a way to recognize the hardworking nurses on her team. She was looking for a way that would prompt patients to share their gratitude and praise with the people who took care of them. She couldn’t find such a tool, so she created one.
When Wambi is used at a hospital or health care facility, patients use iPads to choose the photo of the team member who they’d like to thank. Patients’ messages to their nurses are often funny, moving, meaningful, and emotional; they highlight the fact that there is so much that happens behind the curtain. The little moments where care providers go the extra mile deserve to be noticed and celebrated.
Some patients opt to fill out a Carepostcard-- a friendly thank you sent digitally to a care provider. The Carepostcards are public; often hospitals display them on hallway TV monitors as way to celebrate the outstanding care that occurs that their facility.
Here, at Wambi’s page, we publish Carepostcards to celebrate the contributions of nurses. When nurses feel seen and are thanked and recognized, the entire care experience is elevated. When each person pauses to write a Carepostcard thanking a nurse, it’s a thank you to all nurses. There is collective gratitude in knowing that knowledgeable, compassionate nurses are on the job and caring for fellow humans.
