FREE ONLINE MENTAL HEALTH TALK - HOW TO COPE WITH ANXIETY DUE TO COVID-19

Are you struggling with increased stress or anxiety due to the COVID-19 pandemic? Are you finding it difficult to concentrate or get simple tasks done?

Anxiety and stress are a normal response to a distressing situation. Everyone is being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in different ways including noticeable changes in mood, issues with family/loved ones may be exacerbated, you may be coping with grief and loss, and increased burden for those needing to balance work and family care obligations.

Everyone reacts to stress in different ways but know that it is normal to struggle before things improve. Our lives may be completely altered for the foreseeable future and it is vital that you take time to also care for your mental health!

Come join us on the weekend of April 25th for a special talk on how to cope with the anxiety/stress during the pandemic. I will be hosting the event on both Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th at 12:00 pm to accommodate different schedules.

Here is what you can expect from the talk:
-Come learn to identify the signs of stress, anxiety, and burnout
-Learn practical skills to manage your stress and healthy coping
-Participate in relaxation and mindfulness exercises you can use at home to help you cope with stress

Emotions tell us important information about how a situation is impacting us and can give us a cue on how to resolve it.

For instance, sadness tells us we may need time to heal and can benefit from social support. When we show signs of sadness it can signal to others to show us support. When we hide or repress our emotions it can hinder others from providing this support as they may not know you are suffering.
