I Almost Became Another Statistic
Last year, my blood work came back: High risk for heart disease. A trainer and nutrition coach for 30 years. But I wasn't surprised. I lost my mom at 58. Not because she was unlucky, but because her body wasn't strong enough to handle what life threw at it. Years of not taking care of her

self led to an aortic tear that took her far too soon. When I worked as a medical assistant in cardiology, I saw it happen over and over. Especially to women over 40. Stress, lack of proper nutrition and movement, bodies breaking down because they were never built up properly. Then I had a pulmonary embolism in my 40s. Another wake-up call that my "mostly healthy lifestyle" wasn't enough. Here's What I Learned the Hard Way:
You can't push through your way to vitality. I spent my teens and early 20s battling anorexia, thinking hours of cardio was the answer. After 30 years in this industry, I see women making similar mistakes, just in different ways. They're told to lift heavier, eat more protein, push harder. But nobody's talking about ENERGY. Without Energy, Nothing Else Matters
You can have the perfect workout plan and meal prep. But if you're too exhausted to execute it? It doesn't matter. That's not a willpower problem. That's an energy problem. And that's exactly what I help executive women over 40 solve. My Approach Is Different

Waiting to lose weight before lifting weights is keeping you overweight.

I know that sounds harsh.
But hear me out.

When you wait to “lose weight first,” here’s what you’re doing:
❌ More cardio (which your body adapts to quickly)‹❌ You eat less (which slows your metabolism)‹❌ You lose muscle along with fat (which makes it harder to keep weight off)‹❌ You stay stuck in the same cycle

Meanwhile, when you lift weights:
✅ You build muscle (which burns more calories at rest)‹✅ You increase your metabolic rate (so you burn more all day long)‹✅ You improve insulin sensitivity (which helps with fat loss)‹✅ You get stronger (which makes daily life easier)‹✅ You lower your blood pressure (yes, really - when done safely)

You don’t need to lose weight to lift weights.‹You need to lift weights to lose weight.

But I get it.

If your blood pressure shot up during menopause
 you’re not imagining it.

I hear this ALL the time:

“My BP was fine my whole life. Then menopause hit and suddenly I’m on medication.”

“My doctor says it’s just part of getting older.”

“I feel like my body betrayed me.”

Your body isn’t betraying you. It’s telling you something is changing and that you need to re-evaluate your lifestyle. What used to work doesn’t work during menopause. Here’s why:

Your hormones shift → your stress response changes → your blood vessels lose elasticity → your BP rises.

The good news? It’s not permanent.

Knowing that, please don’t do what most women in menopause do:

💙Even when I didn’t deserve it.

That teenager in these photos was destroying herself with disordered eating. Hating her body. Fighting it every single day.
