Z to A Training and Nutrition Dedicated to weight loss, nutrition and resistance training, I am dedicated to giving you a health and fitness transformation. NO COOKIE CUTTER PLANS!

Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition coach through NASM. Currently Pursuing credentialing as CES, BCS and GEC. The long and short of it is that I have been where you are. Unhappy with health, body or both. I was constantly being told what I needed to do by people who had never been in my shoes. I was over 400lbs since in my late teenage years. I have struggled with my physical health since I can remember, and after 27 years I had finally had enough. I decided today was the last day I was going to let my physical health affect my mental well being. I took a picture of myself to mark the occasion, and I got to work. Over the next 13 months I lost 180lbs by dieting, fasting and exercising. While weight loss did occur, the trouble has been staying in shape since the transformation. The next two years further I dedicated myself constantly improving and setting new goals involving more advanced training and I fell in love with learning how to make changes in myself and others. I then began working on getting the licensing needed to I could train others. I educated myself on why the body works like it does with regards to exercise and nutrition. My goal is to work with you on specific goal(s) you have. My workout and nutrition plans are completely customized for you as an individual. Everyone is unique, and I want to help you reach your goal the right way.

This morning while trying to do my bible study, I just could not get into it.

I had a million things going on in my mind and could not focus on what I was trying to read. I tried prayer, and could not quiet my mind. This is a pretty common occurance for me and continues to to a struggle no matter how bad I want or need that time with God.

Sometimes it seems like the harder I work, the less I accomplish.

Have you ever felt this way?

I know this pattern seems to pop up through out my life. When I was trying to lose weight, everytime I closed in on the new goal, I got stuck.

Was it stress? Was it effort? Was it something in the food? Was I not working as hard as I thought I was?

None of that, or all othat maybe...

What I do know is that on the other side it looks a lot different, because I did eventually hit that goal and crush many more goals along the way.

Here is what I did discover: Things worth having are worth working for.

I came to the conclusion that we are just used to having things when we want them. The buy now, here tomorrow mentality has poisoned the culture of health, and people online are using this to manipulate the way you perceive the work required to achieve what you want.

Regardless of the journey you are on, you will hit low points, and how you respond will completely change your life.

You can choose to let that hurdle stop you in your tracks, or find a way over it/through it.

Only you can do this though. Someone can always help you get started, develop a plan, but they cannot want the result more than you do.

Do you really want what you are looking for? Are you willing to chase it with reckless abandonment? Are you willing to leave who you are now in order to become the man you know you could be?

I promise, stop looking for THE solution, and focus all your energy in A solution.

Are you chasing your Mountain Top Moment?

There is nothing quite like summitting a mountain. it is as if you were just given a second lease on life.

You can have that Mountain Top moment though at any time though.

Hiking and Weight Loss go hand in hand. You are going to grind, and at times ask why you picked this trail. Your lungs will burn and your resolve will weaken.

The only people who make it to the top though and have that moment are the ones who are not there for the moment at the top, but the climb to get there.

A man who can fall in love with the process rather than the result will feel infinitely more rewarded. A man focused on the reward will feel lost or let down by the reward.

So here is the thing, YOU WILL FINISH YOUR CLIMB.... if and only if, you never stop walking.

You need to learn to have that Mountain Top moment daily by falling in love with the process, and the changes you are making. Otherwise, it means nothing in the end.

So, stop limiting yourself by telling yourself that it is too hard, or you dont have time, or the view at the top isnt worth it.

YOU ARE WORTH THE JOURNEY, STOP SELLING YOURSELF SHORT OF YOUR TRUE WORTH! DEMAND THE SAME EXCELLENCE FROM YOURSELF THAT YOU FEEL YOU DESERVE FROM OTHERS.

He has lost 83 lbs since January!

I am always so pumped to be a part of many amazing mens journeys. It takes only 1 thing though!

The difference between Nate and many other people who have weight loss goals is that he chose to believe in himself and hold himself accountable to his goals.

He asked me to help him hold himself accountable to his goals, and we have had ups and downs - but never stopped.

If you have 50+lbs to lose you need to be able to hold yourself accountable. You need to value yourself and your goals. You have value. Your goals are important.

My clients are crushing it. Here are a few that I wanted to share with you!

Kevin had started this program as an over the road trucker and we came up with a plan to suit his life on constantly being on the road. He is managing to make progress regardless of his circumstances, while working and being a dad.

Neal is a busy manager and dad, and worked long hours, but made time in his day to stay active and eat healthier on his lunch breaks!

Kevin works for a donut company and still down 60 pounds in around 6 months!

Byron works from home and found time through his busy day to go on walks and break up his exercise into chunks. He is also a busy dad who still has time to spend with his wife and son!

Mike (my dad) works a busy and difficult manual labor job and still found time to be running multiple projects, working hard, and being a new grandpa!

Amazing progress with an amazing client.

I have watched his mindset completely change over the last 2 months!

it is like talking to a completely different person, and that is what is all about really.

When people say things like, "Is fasting really sustainable?"

This is always my answer: Is your current way of life sustainable? Is being 50+ pounds overweight sustainable? Think about how crappy you feel right now, and is that really how you want to feel the rest of your life?

People who ask questions like this are dealing with their own doubts. If you never try you will never feel.

Losing weight is uncomfortable, so is being fat.

You can choose to ignore the problem, and maybe that works for a period of time. But being fat, is not sustainable.

If you are sick of making excuses, do the first thing necessary and admit to yourself that the path you are on is causing you more pain than the pain you will go through to change.

Change is never easy, but if you are always looking for easy why are you taking the time to read this or look at this post?

You want to change, so lets talk about it!

Today is my 32nd birthday, and I just want to say thankful to each one of you who have supported me and believed in me over the years.

I wanted to recap briefly some things I am proud of being a part of this last year. God has blessed me and given me my share of trials this last year.

- became a dad
- Finished my home remodel (at least enough)
- Found a new church home
- Began working with The Dream Center
- Was a full time stay at home dad
- Starting working on my mental health
- Confirmed a calling on my life
- Survived my first full year in Missouri
- Hired a business coach.
- Started my first business
- Helped my first paid clients lose weight
- Quit a terrible habit

There are many more things that happened in the last year and I wanted to share a little bit about it.

If you were to ask me, “do you feel like you were productive last year?”

I would probably say no.

When you are living in it each day, you don’t see the progress.

I am incredibly blessed and I owe it all to God. As soon as I began to acknowledge that, I began seeing true progress in my life.

Thank you to my incredible family and friends who put up with me and keep me from doing anything too stupid.

Just a reminder that no matter how hard you work, you will always want to do more, look better.

Yes, that mentality can be toxic, but so can bring completely selfless…

The key to success has been a couple easy things.

1. Always having a goal. In this period of my life, finding a goal was hard, but I have a new one set that I will hit.

2. Weighing daily: you can cry and complain about that being a bad thing. Well, you have not been 400lbs and you don’t know how easy it can be to fall back into old crap.

3. One day rule: no back to back days off. If you need rest, take rest, but then get back after it.

Yeah, these three things won’t inherently lead to weight loss, these are just small habits that I have felt increase likelihood of success.

I can’t believe this guy has almost been here a whole year. Being a dad has completely shifted my life in a way which I never thought possible. It has made me reevaluate habits (good and bad), work harder, seek God deeper… you get the point. Having a kid changes everything. To all my parents out there,I am sure you can relate. I now think about the actions I make, and how they are shaping my child’s future actions. I am trying to be the type of person I would want you to be. I want to act it, not just say it.
