Team San Ysidro Health spent time in Sacramento for California Primary Care Association's Day at the Capitol, meeting with our San Diego state delegation, grounded in collaboration and a shared dedication to ensuring access to care for all and building a healthy community across California. These conversations are critical to elevating the needs of the communities we serve and protecting access to care for the more than 162,000 patients who rely on us.

Representing our patients and our 3,200 dedicated and mission driven staff were Kevin Mattson, Chief Executive Officer, Ana Melgoza, Vice President of External Affairs, and Alejandra Perez, Director of External Affairs.

We extend our appreciation to all the legislative offices and their staff for taking the time to meet with us and a special thank you to Senator Kelly Seyarto for the meaningful conversation and continued partnership in expanding access to care. Were we also had the opportunity to share more about the recent opening of our Julian Family Medicine clinic, expanding access to care for rural communities in Senate District 32.

We were honored to celebrate the ribbon cutting of San Ysidro Health’s Julian Family Medicine clinic last Friday, a meaningful step forward for the Julian and surrounding rural communities. This is more than a new clinic. It is a commitment to ensuring that everyone, no matter where they live, has access to the care they deserve.

For too long, rural communities have faced barriers to timely, quality health care. Since its grand opening, SYHealth has taken a step toward changing that. By expanding access to comprehensive services, including on site behavioral health, we are investing in healthier families, stronger communities, and a future where care is truly within reach for all.

Joined by community leaders, partners, and neighbors, this moment reflected the power of coming together with a shared purpose. To build a healthier, more connected community where no one is left behind.
