Many cultures stress the importance of protecting the mother-baby unit or dyad. Traditionally the dyad would return to her mother’s home for what is known as “the sacred window” to be cared for 40 days, leaving her daily household responsibilities and her focus would be healing, resting, bonding, and learning her new baby. Her mother and other family members would cook, tend to her needs completely with nourishing foods, treatments, and care. The primary purpose of this seclusion was to provide the newborn mother and baby complete rest and recuperation. Whole medicine systems like Ayurveda emphasize what we do now in this stage will have an effect on us and how we show up as mothers, partners, and women in our community.

Mone Wellness supports the mother-baby dyad by providing education and support to strengthen bonding, healing, and emotional connection. Mone recognizes how we tend to our physical and emotional needs and how we bond and connect to our baby is critically important at this time as a mother’s healing postpartum impacts her health for years to come.
